Braemar gas central heating error code / insufficient gas suppy
Long story short - my Braemar gas central heating was fitted in 2019.
Serial # 00596615
product 270777
Specific recommendations for a technician welcome.
The unit is now cutting out very soon after starting with error message #6 - "flame detected when not required".
Five service visits and a $1000 service anmd a 120 new flame detector later the error persists but PlumbFirst - who installed and have serviced the unit until now - now claim that the unit is getting insufficient gas supply. Plumber showed me a reading that fell into the 500s. Should ideally over 1000 I believe.
PlumbFirst thinks that there's a leak in the old galvanised pipe leading from gas meter to central heating unit. They want $6000 to replace it. There's no guarantee that a leak is the problem or that a new pipe from meter to unit will solve the problem.
Also I've just had a visit from MultiNet to look at everything - they will be replacing my gas meter so I'm hoping that will solve the problem but not hopeful.
UPDATE: new meter and regulator fitted by MultiNet. They checked and there is no leak in the gas supply and they declate the gas flow sufficient.
Does anyone have experience of Braemar giving a false error #6?
Could an insufficient gas supply lead to error #6 showing on my control panel?
Could this error message be accurate? Multiple service guys have said no.
One suggestion below was a faulty circuit board.
All advice appreciated.
