Update to my last post where I so happily shared the far away spotting from my backyard. He came back for a visit while I was watering my plants this morning and my dog alerted me. I heard the call, but as I often do I didn’t think I would be able to see him, but noticed my dog sitting and staring up into a tree. Mr pileated did not seem to mind my dog’s presence, and as I approached the tree (while keeping my distance) he remained un-phased. My dog and I enjoyed 3 minutes of watching him eat his breakfast 🐜😍🪾
