Eyelid swelling postop?

Not really asking for medical advice just wondering if this is a normal experience. My 4 yo had a pretty big bilateral revision yesterday and has developed some eyelid swelling, she says she isn’t in pain and we’re doing Tylenol and the antibiotic drops on the schedule we were given. Not sure if she needs to go to urgent care tomorrow or not, she will not tolerate compresses.

Edited to mention, this was her third surgery so I expected a bit more swelling but haven't seen it before to this extent.

First picture is before surgery, then a few hours after and today.

Finally weaned at 18 months!

This is my second and last baby and we were both over nursing (her sister nursed for 15 months). I've had a cold that turned into a sinus infection and now another cold so I can finally take the good stuff plus she was over breastfeeding except for a few seconds at bedtime. Time for more coffee, retinol and sleeping on my stomach again because I have definitely put my time in! Good luck all!

Third surgery?

Hi all,

My 4 yo has alternating esotropia and has really all of her life. She started wearing glasses at 11 months old and had her first surgery in 2024 which wasn’t very successful. She had another surgery the end of 2025 with a different surgeon in the same group (the first one moved out of state). Now her surgeon wants to repeat her dilated eye exam Monday to make absolutely sure glasses vs surgery would be the path forward. We did a dilated exam last month and I trust her surgeon as he’s an expert in both adult and pediatric strabismus but is this normal to take multiple surgeries to straighten her eyes? When she had glasses she never wore them and farsightedness isn’t causing her strabismus but I’m just frustrated as her mom seeing her go through this.
