How are you testing your understanding before moving on?

Hi Guys,

I have been studying since begining of february, and i have only made it half way! i know most people here claim they have done it in 2 months!! watch is crazy if the claim is true! cause in my experieince maybe do able in 2 months but you must be doing it full time 10hr a day 7 days a week.

or have huge amount of experieince or prior exposure to networking!

i have been studying about 25hr per week! which i think in like 6/7/8 months should still be doable! but i am only half way through!

one thing i have noticed is that i read the material and i understand it at the moment but if you ask me to explain it back to you i would not be able to do it! the CLI part i can figure out! no issue there! but when it comes to explain theory back i am not able to!

What does your study skills look like and how are you measuring your understanding before moving on? to next chapter.

I prefer to read than to watch video! i got JITL vol one and two.

any advice?

can you make money on social media as a content creator in tech space as male?

hi Guys,

I see lots of people creating content on social media mainly Instagram and you tube claiming they make good money, but most of them are pretty women i am not sure weather people are watching cause they are pretty or find the content genuinely worthy of watching, is there any men out there that actually make money on social media in tech space that can verify this with their experience, is it about content of the content or more pretty face bring in views?

I am a technically person with good knowledge and some experience and i want to be deeply involved in the AI space, so i want to document and share what I am learning, but want to make income from doing so.

Also, what are of tech and AI will bring good money, Ideally i want to make at least $2.5k USD avg a month after 6-9 months, cause that is what some are claiming they make.

I am also that sort person that when i want do something i do it to the fullest!

Is Evri actually worth it as a self-employed courier? My first few days have me questioning it.

I started delivering for Evri a few days ago and I’m trying to work out whether it’s actually worth doing financially, or if I’m just getting unlucky with the routes.
On my first day I delivered 12 parcels in a rural area, which took around 4 hours.
Yesterday I delivered about 70 parcels in a built-up town/city area in the South West of England (not Bristol), and that seemed much more reasonable.
Today, however, I delivered around 60 parcels on a rural route. I started at about 11:00 am and didn’t finish until around 8:30 pm. I also spent about £40 on fuel.
From what I’ve been told, I’m paid roughly £1.20 per parcel, so today’s earnings would be around £72 before expenses. Once I take away the fuel, there’s only about £32 left, and that’s before accounting for wear and tear, insurance, servicing, tyres, tax, etc.
After driving for pretty much the entire day, it honestly feels like I barely made anything, if anything at all.
I’m interested to hear from other Evri couriers:
Is this normal when you’re starting out?
Do rural routes generally make much less money than urban ones?
Does it get better once you know your route?
How do people actually make decent money doing this?
I’m not trying to complain—I genuinely want to know whether this is just part of the learning curve or whether this is what the job is normally like. At the moment, I’m struggling to see how it’s financially worthwhile.
I’d appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences, both good and bad.

Also i was give an eta of 3.5 hours

how should I proceeded with studying CCNA?

Hi guys,

I have been studying for the CCNA since the beginning of March (5th), and I've been using Jeremy's IT Lab material — some of his videos, but mostly his Volume 1 book so far. I haven't gotten to his Volume 2 material yet.

I read Volume 1 from cover to cover and understood the material at the time of reading with no issues. However, I did not do much practical Packet Tracer lab work or use Anki flashcards. Regarding labs, I only completed them up to EtherChannels — nothing beyond that: no dynamic routing, OSPF, IPv6, Layer 4, or ACLs.

Now that I've completed the theory side, I'm thinking of going back to do the practical work, but I feel like I don't remember much of the material. I can look at a summary of a topic — STP, VLANs, subnetting, etc. — and I know what it's talking about, but if you asked me to go into detail, I wouldn't be able to. Most of the material past EtherChannels from the JITL Volume 1 book has completely left my brain at this point.

This feels slow compared to what I read about other people achieving in the same timeframe. I know that going back over all that theory again would take several weeks, which doesn't feel like an efficient path — but at the same time, I do need to revisit that material somehow.

So my real question is this: should I reread the theory for the remaining chapters I haven't lab'd through, and do the labs immediately after the theory on a per-chapter basis? Or should I skip the theory re-read, power through the labs, and use AI tools to fill in the gaps as they come up?

I want to achieve two things here: my company has great opportunities for me to take on other learning after the CCNA is complete, which I want to pursue — but I also want the CCNA done as quickly as possible with maximum understanding, and I want the best ROI on my time.

For anyone thinking I'll burn out — I won't. I can power through this kind of material for years, so that's not a concern.

A few things worth noting:

  • My company has offered to pay for Boson study materials (NetSim and ExSim — practice labs and exams) as well as the CCNA exam itself, so money is not much of a consideration (I will get the NetSim and ExSim bundle today).
  • I genuinely cannot watch videos. I simply cannot sit through a two-hour video. However, I can sit for six hours and read, which is how I prefer to absorb theory.
  • I have a BSc and MSc in Mathematics, strong Python and Linux experience, and have been working as an IT support engineer for about seven months.
  • I study roughly three hours per weekday and six hours per weekend day — about 12 hours over the weekend — totalling around 30–40 hours per week.
  • This is for the full CCNA 200-301, not a partial or specialised cert.

Books for CCNP

Hi Guys i am thinking of doing CCNP, but i prefer reading than watching vidoes, any recommendsion for good books that cover CCNP ENCOR AND ENSARI?

note i am only looking for books for my theory not videos.

also out of the option for labs, which is the better option eve-ng, cml or what ever the other option is, I am in the UK so money is that much of an issue but i want the experieince of learning to be easier so happy to spend, so long i get better learning experieince.

many thanks.
