Normal for planner consultations?
We've just kicked off our search for a wedding planner and so far it hasn't been what I expected, so I'm looking for a reality check.
Is it normal for planners to not ask questions about our needs and goals until after we've contracted with them? We met with a couple experienced planners and neither of them asked about where we wanted help, what our budget is, or what our vision for our wedding is.
I thought they would have taken more of a lead, given that is the service I am looking for. The next steps also weren't very clear and we haven't received any follow-up (albeit has only been a couple days). I'm starting to get nervous because I wanted to get started asap.
It surprised me that this happened with more than one planner, so I want to get another perspective—are my expectations too high or is this weird?
