It's kind of sad how Artyom just seems to forget about his adopted dad

Like does he ever mention him in Last Light and Exodus? The guy raised him since he was a kid and he's rarely ever referred to in the diary entries and other things. Artyom has a lot to say on the factions and the Dark Ones and whatever but not his home and dad.

Exodus' emotional climax has Miller symbolically adopting Artyom and I just remembered poor Sukhoi has no idea what happened to his son and daughter-in-law. Hansa either completely hid their fates or marked them as traitors to the Metro.

Hopefully we see him again in 2039.

I've seen a bunch of people take Markvart's "no you" at face value becuase the scene is really well done despite the fact that he's completely full of shit.

Pictured above is his reaction to Erik saying he can incite a pogrom against the Jews. Rather than treating it heavily, he smiles and tells Erik he's learning. Being told that every man, woman, and child will be killed gets a "good job" reaction from him.

He's also full of shit in his last scene. He says he remembers Henry cause of Martin yet completely failed to recognize him in the waiter scene. He lies to make Wenceslas look worse (claiming he deliberately fed his wife to his hunting dog when it was an accident) then tries to shift the goalposts when you call him out on it. He describes Sigismund as 'sometimes going too far' then acts like Wenceslas (admittedly scummy) hunting instead of attending his wife's funeral is somehow worse.

His "I remember everyone I kill" is dogshit since, as the commander, he's responsible for giving orders that affects the lives of hundreds if not thousands. His personal kill count may be low (so he remembers them), but that's because he rarely gets his hands dirty given that he has an army. And the one time we see him do it, it's to kill a guy just trying to escape with his wife then watching said wife get horribly murdered by his cumans.

Then he has the gall to say he's going to heaven cause he said his hail marys. (Though admittedly, that's also because of the culture of the time and the belief in how you could get to heaven if you prayed and donated enough no matter what sins you committed.)

I gut him like a dog every time. Markvart talks a big game but nothing he does is honorable. He's as bad as Istvan, Dry Devil, Zizka and all the other 'war is hell, so bla bla bla' guys from either side.

Just wondering. Henry can just buy gilded gold armor or really fancy clothes without comment. I wonder if that was allowed back then? Or maybe being Hans' squire gets him a pass? Like if anyone questions then Hans goes "that's my squire and I'm a noble from the house of Leipa, back off"?
