Sommerticket - Reservation really required?
It states on the conditions of the Sommerticket that reservations are obligatory on specific kind of trains (IC, Railjet, EC, etc.) on Fridays and Weekends. The routes I take, despite being within these categories sometimes, are not very busy, and for the past 5 years that I've been using Öbb (and more often Raaberbahn) trains regularly, I haven't had the need to book a reservation for a seat. Do you think I would possibly get-by without a reservation, and how strict are they with this policy? Does anyone have any experience with this?
Of course I've been complying with this policy so far.
