Not sure if this makes sense here or in a weekly thread but I’d love some advice on this situation from others who may have similar experiences. My child’s certificate was received August 13 (hooray!) but there is an error in the spelling of his first name. Obviously all of the identification documentation I provided shows it the correct way so I submitted a web form the same day about this using the “report a technical issue” option. Does anyone have experience with a correction like this and how long it takes to get it addressed, or even how long it takes to hear back from IRCC in response to an inquiry? Some of their web form options seem like a black hole. I don’t feel like I need to upload anything additional as they already have copies of everything with the correct spelling. Anyone with a similar situation that has gotten it resolved, I’d love to hear from you!

Here’s my update 8/18: I tried calling IRCC via the Toronto Airport number (905-676-3640) and pressing 2 to get through. It took multiple attempts where the line would just beep repeatedly and then drop my call about 15 minutes in. I finally got through to the IRCC phone tree after waiting and then tried going through the options only to end up at a recording saying they are too busy to take my call at this time and got disconnected. I was able to get back into the IRCC phone tree again right away the next time and finally talked to an agent. Waited about 40 min to talk to someone after getting into their system. The agent was helpful and verified my information and then indicated that they would notify the office to reissue the certificate with the correct spelling. Not sure how long that will take but it’s (hopefully) handled! Hoping this information helps someone in a similar situation down the road
