Klepper folding kayak

We love our Klepper folding kayak. German made, 17 ft long, extremely seaworthy. The skin is made from industrial conveyor belt material with a canvas topside. It packs into 2 bags each roughly the size of a golf bag. I also have a complete sail setup. Basic kayak weighs 75 lbs. Assembly takes about 30 minutes. It has inflatable bladders in the skin making it unsinkable. We’ve paddled in both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans , many rivers and Alpine lakes too.

Early summer replant

We had to replant our corn and some beans, cold weather and rain rotted some seed. We had a frost late May but finally got our tomatoes in June 1st. Our growing season is short , 90 days frost free but occasionally we can harvest tomatoes well into early fall. Our no spray gardens supply us with 2 freezers full of fruits and veggies for our long winters. We are blessed with unlimited water from our deep (200’ ) wells. Asparagus bumper crop

Our 20 year old asparagus patch is thriving, we freeze a whole winter’s worth to enjoy . Asparagus don’t tolerate weeds , need lots of nitrogen, and lots of water. We are fortunate to have unlimited water from our 2 deep artesian wells. We fertilize with composted manure every fall. High elevation Vermont farm zone 5B

We’re in zone 5B on our high elevation mountain side Vermont farm. The soil has been too wet to work till now. We can get killing frosts through May so only hardy plants and seeds go in now. I grow seedlings under fluorescent lights ( not grow lights) with heat mats to stimulate growth. This no spray garden is mine, my wife has a similar size kitchen garden by the house. We grow most of our own food. Lots of work but very rewarding. Stocked trout pond in background. Orchard/ grapes on other side of stone wall.
