$1200 for a plumbing repair that took under an hour, fair?

Had a water pressure issue and ended up needing the pressure regulator replaced. The plumber diagnosed it, replaced the part, and the whole visit took less than an hour.

Total was $1200

I get that I’m paying for experience, travel, tools, overhead, and the part itself, not just the time spent at my house.

But it still made me wonder, how do you know if a service price is actually fair when you have no idea what that type of job normally costs? Has anyone had a similar repair done?
