Roora questions from Black American-update
I came on here 3 months ago asking if my Roora prices were fair. Background: my wife now is an aerospace engineer from Masvingo and her family had charged $5000 and 6 cows etc
The update is, I married my woman and we had a lovely ceremony. We were on Zoom her family in Zimbabwe. My mother and brother travelled there and were part of the ceremony. I stayed behind with my wife.
But we had a lovely day. I paid the $5000, cows and groceries and they accepted me very well
She organized an event for them, like a party with beautiful decor like it was a real wedding with cakes and beautiful African outfits that matched ours It was amazing
I am officially a Zimbabwean “Mukasha “
And I now know how to clap my hands so they make a sound 👏
Thank you for your help and those that helped me feel confident with the process. You have a lovely culture. Even in our home her culture radiates and I feel amazing being with her. I could go on and on lmfao
When I made the post a few months ago, I got interesting comments on how I know about Masvingo and how I sent out the list in Shona - I am married to a Zimbabwean woman. Why would I not know where she comes from
If I am planning to spend the rest of my life with her and from my understanding, it’s difficult to translate the list to Shona so I pasted it as it was. I just found it interesting why people were shocked by me being invested in Zimbabwean culture.
