oval setting that won't rip medical gloves?
My partner is a nurse and washes her hands a million times a day, so a high-set stone is definitely going to snag on everything and tear through gloves. She told me she wants a 1.5 carat oval but I'm stuck on the actual structure of the head.
I've been looking at different physical stores like Helzberg, a small estate shop near my work, and Ashcroft & Oak just to see the actual side profiles in person because online photos don't show the height well. A standard 4-prong looks like an accident waiting to happen, but I don't know if a full bezel ruins the light return on an oval.
If anyone has a low-profile oval, how many millimeters is the clearance from the finger? Do the prongs still catch?
