Decent Quality Runner Rug?

Hey!

So I have been ordering this beautiful chenille runner rug for my kitchen every couple years as it gets dingy or worn. This time, my younger cat has used it as a plaything and elements are coming out and off. I tried to reorder it from Natural Life, but sadly, the same print rug at the same price is now terrible quality. It used to be buttery soft, plush, and very nice to stand on. The replacement, which was the same listing on their website, was the same price and image but clearly they’re going the way of other companies and riding old, positive reviews for products that are no longer made of the same quality. I’d rather pay a little more for what I had than receive junk. I can do that by shopping Amazon.

So I have been looking for a soft, medium pile rug online that is cute and will work in the kitchen but “medium pile” doesn’t seem to register in any search- I see the same junk Amazon sells, which is largely those horribly thin “washable” rugs.

How do you even search for a proper rug these days? I bought a Ruggable rug a while back for the living room. It’s ok, but because I had to buy a pad the thing is constantly moving and puckering. I don’t care for it and wouldn’t shop their goods again. I’d like a rug that doesn’t need a pad.

Totally mystified that finding a decent rug is so impossible now. We are relegated to extremely expensive goods or absolute crap. Did medium pile rugs or rugs that don’t need pads just stop being made completely? I cannot figure out how to search for or find one…
