Reference images and a couple of the drawings I did

I'm trying to figure out what to do with the background of the mountain with trees behind the mountain with the rock. In one I tried to recreate the trees on the mountain and on the other I just ignored them completely. I'm getting better at the foreground trees and have just gotten some pencils to also use for some of the more detailed areas.

Any suggestions or feedback/critique are welcome. I am new to pastels and am working on these as a trial run for a larger piece to turn in to my drawing professor. I'd specifically like any suggestions for that background mountain.
