Strength Training + Hot Yoga: How Do You Balance Both? 🧘‍♀️💪

Does anyone else do a combination of strength training and hot yoga? I’m trying to figure out a good routine that incorporates both because I’m really missing my yoga! I started my hot yoga journey back in 2008 with good ol’ Bikram and I was OBSESSED 😂 I was going at least 4 times a week, sometimes 5–6, because I was fully in the “the more yoga, the better” mindset they drilled into us. And honestly, I was in amazing shape! (Obviously I was also younger… let’s not give all the credit to Bikram 😂.) I ended up doing the Bikram teacher training in 2014 and taught quite a bit before all the studios started shutting down. Last year I bought a hot yoga dome for home and I actually really enjoy it. My husband, however, is not quite as enthusiastic because we live in a one-bedroom and apparently my yoga comes with A LOT of noise 😂 But it’s so nice not having to drive somewhere to do it. I’m in the Vancouver area and the only decent studio near me that offers traditional 26&2 is quite a drive. Lately I’ve mainly been doing weights and cardio at the gym before work because I like getting my workout done first thing in the morning, but I really do miss my yoga. I still have that old Bikram mindset of wanting to do it as often as possible 😂 Does anyone who does both strength training and hot yoga have a good routine they follow? How often do you do each? I also have some dumbbells at home, so I could probably incorporate a little strength routine around my yoga days too. I’d love to hear what works for you! 🥹🧘‍♀️💪
