Induction at 40w1d
I have two kids (8&3) and one on the way due 9/1. Baby number three will be an elective induction because I had one with my second at 39w5d due to him measuring large and it was so smooth and stress free. With that said, this is my first IVF pregnancy and I’m worried about going to 40 weeks. I’ve been down the Google rabbit hole of complications, c-sections, placenta issues, still birth, etc. I’m 35 and so I know that puts me at a higher risk. I have a growth scan at 33w with the MFM so I’m sure they’ll look at the placenta at that point. My OB will do weekly no stress tests and ultrasounds starting at 36 weeks. Ideally I’d like to be induced late 9/1 so she can be born 9/2 as that’s the school cut off date for our local school district. I really would prefer her to be on the older side of the class than the younger. Our district doesn’t allow holding kids back a year so that’s not an option. I’m just wondering if I’m putting myself at a huge risk being induced at 40w0d and having her 40w1d. Any similar experiences would be really helpful. My OB doesn’t have a problem with this plan but now that I’ve read all the things I’m worried it’s a poor choice.
