How does a credit card know I'm paying off a purchase?
Might be a silly question but say I have a credit card that's 3 years interest free on Balance Transfer. So I've transferred £X and that money doesn't accrue interest charges for 3 years.
Now, the same card has 3 months interest free on purchases. Say I buy something for £100 then pay it back next month, how does it know I'm paying that back and not paying off the balance transfer? Or is it a case that one supercedes the other and that, having completed a transfer, the interest free on purchases is kind of void?
