Baby needs new shoes, going to get new rims and tires - what are you running (EBA/4BA - 2024MY)?

OEM Dumplops are going to get replaced

Few questions:

  1. Runflats or not?

  2. All season ones - which ones and how is that vs summer only?

  3. Sweet spot on sizing (OEM or wider)?

And 4 - I've seen some ratty near bald tires listed for sale on FB MP - does anyone actually buy these? Just curious why would anyone get near spent treadwear set? Drifting? Demolition Derby? Plant potters? Crossfit?

DMNO = D'OH... UMM. NO. (UDO QC strikes again) - anyone else having issues with LCD flipping to Klingon?

I think DMNO broke my GAS

Had one on pre-order since Black Friday and finally received it yesterday. Ftr - I've been spoiled and aside from modulars I think I ticked all the boxes for nearly all the synths accessible to mere mortals, CS80, DX7 II, and maybe a few other odd ones excluded.

First - DMNO is beautiful and I must admit that that was one of the main draws. It also is built really well. But...

Yeah. There's a but.

IMO, it does nothing to earn it's spot, if you have other competent gear. It doesn't have a certain something among UDO SG, Virus C, or Polybrute 6. For all the hate Polybrute 6 gets, it sounds... well... alive. DMNO just sounds ... Like everything else. Its complexity and depth are going to take some time to master, but in the meantime, it doesn't reward you as easily without much manual diving as others.

If you have other VAs, unless you like the form factor or looks, I'm not sure you will get something unique out of it, other than the unusual approach to same as everything else gear. I place its sound and cool factor at Nord Lead3, but without the intuitiveness of Nord. And quite honestly, I don't feel motivated deep diving into it to see what else it can do - that sound palette is well covered and most certainly not worth 2x or 3x the price of other competent kit out there - unless that's your only synth and you really want to learn how to play DMNO. Investment (time and money) vs Reward just isn't there for me. It cannot do anything that a Virus C could not do 26 years ago

I started my synth hoarding with Roland XP60 and DMNO may very well be the last synth I bought. Well, returned. Beautiful, original, but cold and complicated DMNO. YMMV

Just my $0.02

Is there a reputable GT-R tech/shop in Philly area that does not suck big donkey balls and is not Nissan-dealership attached? I realized that there are no Nissan service shops in the area that can work on the car - not just because they don't have a tech, but the ones that do treat a GT-R like it's an Altima, with my nearby "service" shops being your typical Nissan shitshows.

Need to find a tech that I won't have to stand and watch to ensure they don't fuck up my car, because two separate dealers already proved that they're as qualified to work on a GT-Rs as I am qualified to work on a spaceship.
