IIM CAT EXAM
Hi everyone,
I am currently mapping out my long-term career pivot and would love a brutal reality check from this community. I am a CAD Engineer (structural drafting and modeling) currently pursuing my B.Tech part-time on weekends. I have about 2 years left until I graduate.
Once I finish my degree and write the CAT, my plan is to quit my job and join an IIM or a top-tier B-school for a PGDM in Financial Management.
Here is a quick breakdown of my profile: 10th Std: 63.8% Diploma: 93.23% (Hoping this acts as a strong 12th-grade equivalent) B.Tech Graduation (Current/Expected): ~65% Work Experience: By the time I apply, I will have 6 years of full-time professional experience.
Why Finance? I really intreast in finance i don't know why, im not even good at maths also butI have big goal to chase so this the first step for that
My questions : How heavily will that 63.8% in 10th drag me down for top IIM shortlists, and will my 93% in my Diploma + heavy work experience compensate for it? How do top finance recruiters view a 6-year experienced structural CAD engineer pivoting into finance? Will the high work experience be an advantage or a hurdle?
