Can I do freestyle on a Cruiser deck?

I wanna setup a board for freestyle and to take it to the skatepark, and I've noticed that specially for freestyle there's a lot of usage of the nose. The thing is that I also would like the board to double for cruising since that's my main activity with the hobby, and I'm not sure how comfortable a popsicle deck will be for that.

Plus, I also like the look of cruiser/old school decks. And I have big feet.

Bushing durometer for a surfskate?

For reference, so far my main use for my surfskate is cruising and commuting. I have my truck tightened just enough so I can push comfortably when needed (as if it were a regular cruiser board) but that still allows me to pump comfortably and generate speed.

I'm 3 months into, I haven't learned how to make tight turns yet, but looking forward to it.

Would softer bushings make turning easier? How would that affect my stability when pushing, as well as the ease of pumping?

I'm using my surfskate to commute, because my city does not have bike lanes, so most of the time I have to get on sidewalks and the greater turning motion allows me to dodge around obstacles.

This is an example of one type of terrain that's common on the sidewalks. I get around these by pushing, which I don't mind strengthening my pushing.

I'm still getting the hang of pumping, but I can pump very well on smooth terrain on flat surfaces or slightly downhill with the wind against me.

However I get the feeling than pumping on terrain like this actually makes me loose momentum rather quickly, and I wanted to ask about it in here to confirm my suspicions or not.
