Bent arm planche or something else? (Position near the end of the video)
I'm trying to understand what the position I get into in the linked video is called. Since the shoulders are lower, and almost in line with the wrist, it makes me feel like the mechanics are a bit different to a standard bent arm planche. I feel quite a lot of torque in my shoulders and my wrists.
I vibe-coded a programming language. It got slightly out of hand.
I present to you Flow, which started from the fairly simple question:
what would a systems language look like if a huge amount of its development was driven through LLMs?
What started off as a simple experiment has become an actual compiler + language ecosystem.
Flow is statically typed and aimed at writing relatively compact code without giving up native performance. It has multiple compilation paths, including C and MLIR/LLVM.
A lot of people wonder about whether or not an LLM can generate a compiler from a schema.
I think it's time we start asking ourselves whether we can construct enough feedback and verification around an LLM that the language remains coherent while the implementation is scaled up.
I've learned a lot of things about how best to use LLMs as tools, as well as a lot of the science behind traditional compiler engineering, in the process. By embracing the tooling and having fun, there's a lot of cool stuff to be made.
I wanted a memory / ram / swap visualiser with a few more features than the others.
I do a lot of agentic coding, but I also do a lot of normal bread & butter coding. One issue I've been running into on my mac is that some of these pesky harnesses eat a lot of my Swap memory. Furthermore, some tools take up way too much RAM.
I wanted to be able to visualise all of this. But I also wanted to snapshot the current state, so I could compare resource contents over certain time periods.
It even has a notification window to provide a simplified view.
It tracks memory use by agent as well. Enjoy knowing what's going on with your MacBook.

The rep counter overlay is based on a YOLOv8 pose model that tracks the shoulders relative to the bar and counts each rep with hysteresis. I tagged some of the tricky reps by hand after, and built an app to help with the tagging and export.

12 sets, 93 reps total.
Background faces are blurred. Rests are sped up 16x, sets at 4x so the whole session fits in 3 minutes.
