French ski resorts?

We are a family of four looking to spend a week in the mountains in Jan-March 2027.

Our children will be 10 months old and 2 years old, so we are not really interested in skiing (for now) but do want to stay somewhere that is hopefully snow sure. Ideally the town would be quite cute and charming with places for our children to play in the snow, do some sledding, maybe some swimming, have a few breakfasts/brunch at some nice cafes and do a few short walks in nature.

Which area do you think would be best for these requirements?

What can we do about the madness at Edinburgh airport?

Other than complaining to the airport themselves, is there a more effective way to bring about improvements and change? Is it worth writing to an MP?

Been there twice this weekend to drop off my husband and kids, only to find out the quick zone drop off charges have now risen to a staggering £8.50!

Upon their return I decided to use the free 30 min pick up and drop off zone, only for all exit barriers to seemingly stop working, trapping us in a 20 minute queue just to get out, as each person then had to buzz the intercom assistance as they’re all being charged £20 for ‘overstaying’, since drop off zone is located in the long stay car park. it was complete chaos and I (politely!) told the intercom guy that they need to open all the barriers because charges are now racking up for the free drop off folks, which was presumably one of the main causes of the excessive queuing and he shouted “I’ve only just got on this intercom, I’m cutting you off!”. He then deliberately ignored further calls for assistance … actually could not believe it! I guess being faceless through an intercom gave him some sort of audacity to act in an aggressive and rude manner, knowing there will be no repercussions.

Anyway, this was the last straw for me regarding Edinburgh airport. My last visit saw me spend £6 on trying to rent one of their baggage trolleys, where it would take my £2 each time and then only open up the already empty row at the trolley station. Was with two small children, car seats, the lot and my lovely taxi driver had to help me get everything into the airport.

Also, the ridiculously long passport control e-gate queues that people with young children always have to stand in (even though kids can’t use e-gates) until we reach the front of said queue and then have to join the manned desk queue.

Rant over!

Where best to find/advertise for a home assistant? I.e someone who comes to my house once a week to do random jobs like sort laundry, sort through storage boxes for things that need to go charity boxes, upload items to Vinted and maybe a bit of cleaning here and there

have no idea where to even start with this! any advice appreciated, it would literally be for 2-3 hours a week or even every other week depending on what suits the person’s schedule. Not sure if it’s something a student would be interested in doing or perhaps a cleaner who is happy to extend their role?

I’m based in central Edinburgh and have added a newborn to the mix so just need help with life admin!
