Catio by busy road

Does anyone have experience with a catio near a loud busy road? I would like to net this off for my kittens but even I don’t hangout on the patio because it’s not exactly relaxing. Behind the hedge is a busy road, not a highway but cars go by pretty fast, and occasionally we get a really obnoxious loud car. I am worried if I go through the money and effort of putting something up they won’t use it. I have cracked the screen door so they could hear and smell outside. At first they were nervous but slowly got used to the sound and would hangout near the opening of a little bit. They are pretty brave in general. When I adopted them they didn’t hide away at all, they only run from like a vacuum or a blender.

Wondering if anyone has been successful with cats enjoying the outdoors despite it being loud? Would love to opened up this extra space for them.

New Blind Kitten

This is Toph, one of my two new kittens. She is doing great and I am in love. Very excited to introduce her to her new sister, but a little worried about her being able to read cat language. She appears to have some vision but it’s unclear how much. From what I know she was found alone with an infection which caused the scarring in her eyes. She is a little less social than my other kitten and a little more mouthy. She has never had siblings so I want her to be able to learn from my other kitten but I am a little worried she won’t be able to see or read cat language. Has anyone had issues with blind cats not being able to understand what other cats are saying through body language?

Ginger bug sodas not carbonating

I don’t know what I am doing wrong, I have tried everything I can think of but my ginger beer refuses to carbonate at all. I am mainly using Joshua Weissmans recipe but have also tried a few others.

My bug is healthy and bubbly and smells great. I have tried various amounts of headroom. I have tried burping and not burping. I have tested my bottles for gas leakage. I have tried 3 days and 7 days of fermentation. I now have my bottles in the oven to sterilize them that way. I can’t think of anything else to try.

I want this so badly to work, does anyone have any ideas or things that worked at getting carbonation?

Fermenting ginger bug soda with fermentation lids

I tried making ginger bug soda last year and gave up after several fails. Didn’t have a problem with the bug it self but my sodas never carbonated. Got the glass flip top bottles, they popped a bit but the soda was never fizzy. I was looking at these kids on amazon https://a.co/d/0fGbdpQo
and was wondering if this would work to help carbonation but not worry about exploding jars. Does anyone use these when making ginger bug soda? Any recommendations for better carbonation?
