Hello! I’m someone who is seriously considering becoming a voice reporter.

Any fellow voice reporters in here who have laptop suggestions?

I’m considering making a career change into voice reporting. I’m hoping I can get someone from Indiana to tell me a little about your experience voice writing? I’m having a hard time finding anyone mentioning Indiana….. so I’m taking that as a bad sign.

1. Is there enough work?
2. What does your typical schedule look like?
3. Where did you go to school?

Or anything else you feel may be helpful to help make a decision on whether or not this may be a promising field here.

I’m hoping to get some advice from people who have successfully transitioned out of traditional education.

My background is in education, but I’m not currently in the classroom. I work in a role where I coach and support teachers, design and facilitate professional learning, develop instructional resources/curriculum, analyze what teachers and students need, and partner with schools and organizations to improve outcomes.

I’m starting to explore what might be next for me. I’d really like to stay connected to education if possible, but I’m also open to L&D, instructional design, talent development, nonprofits, program management, etc.

My biggest priorities are remote/flexible work, good work-life balance, and ideally $70K+. I’m also a mom, so I’m trying to find something that allows me to have a career without feeling like I’m constantly choosing work over my family.

For those who have made a similar transition:
What job titles should I be searching for? What companies/organizations should I be looking at? And are there career paths you think my experience would translate well into that I might be overlooking?

I’d especially love to hear from people who had a similar education background and successfully made the jump. Thanks!
