Question about different tyres on staggered setups

I’m looking to change one pair of tyres (rear axle) in a staggered setup due to one pair changed much earlier from a puncture. The ones I’m changing have gone 30000km without issue and are intended to be changed due to wear only. Mine is a RWD EV.

An AI search was trying to dissuade me from having two different tyres due to grip and torque oversteer issues. I have been using different tyres for about 20000 km with no issues so far.

How significant is this difference in my intended Michelin setup? I thought it would be perfect.

Sharing a painful car rental story overseas

Recently I was in Europe on vacation and booked a car with SIXT for part of my journey which ended in Germany. The arrangement was to pick up in one city and return in another city’s airport, namely Frankfurt. There were some good and many bad things about this experience I’d like to share.

What was good:

The pre-collection process was very smooth, selecting the desired options and even allowing me to confirm my car selection (I got the exact car I booked for), which also smoothened out the collection process itself. The WhatsApp-based customer service is quite responsive in general and seem like nice people.

What was bad that marred the entire experience and make me wary of future rentals shall follow:

All went well until the post-return process. The receiving garage was overwhelmed with vehicles and understaffed, so we were told to leave the key in the parked car while they processed all the incoming vehicles, which is fine as we had many large pieces of luggage to handle upon returning to SG. For my security, I took one photo of the car in the return (which I’m glad I did). There was no other proof of my return other than that since we left the car in trust they would handle it cleanly. I was not familiar with the car so I didn’t capture the mileage or fuel level but it was topped to full as instructed.

Upon returning to Singapore after a 12-hour flight and reaching home, I was sent an email saying that my car had not been returned yet, and when I clicked “confirm my return”, it gave an error message. This was the start of 6 days of turmoil. After some messaging, they assured me that they would get the receiving garage to confirm my return and I submitted that photo (which I realise didn’t register because their WhatsApp agents don’t have access to attachments).

A few days of waiting passed when I got a new email saying my car has not been returned for 120+ hours, and my credit card was charged for 6 additional rental days. Again I tried to click on the car return, but it didn’t work. A lesson learnt not to use Apple Pay because they allow these additional transactions to go through under the guise that the original was legit (something the bank refused to do anything about) and treated as a repeat/subscription transaction apparently. After calling the bank and WhatsApping the agency repeatedly, eventually a final invoice was produced which finally indicated a return 6 days later, clearly including the 6 extra days of rental fee and a collection of my 300€ deposit.

Furious, I started firing away at them, then my dispute was raised to the next level. Only at that point did I realise all my evidence on WhatsApp was useless (as they couldn’t see it), and I was told to send it via email, which I did. I had to screenshot my photo with the timestamp, even took a photo of my boarding pass and exit stamp.

Eventually, the additional rental charges were sorted, but I still had one further step regarding mileage. Apparently, they registered the car with additional mileage only 6 days later (likely it was sent out for another rental), so I had to dispute that too. Luckily I had a fuel receipt to submit as well. In the end, there is a small surcharge that I’m too tired to fight because the location surcharge is pro-rated on the other charges while the mileage surcharge was negated by a direct goodwill discount. It would mean starting my story all over again with a new agent on WhatsApp because that how they operate. I must have been in contact with over 10 different agents in a week.

I’m sharing this story as a precaution to anyone intending to rent overseas because of the hassle and sleepless nights involved if it doesn’t go or end smoothly. It’s not my first overseas rental, and only the second involving different pickup and dropoff locations. That’s a much trickier proposition depending on how good their system is in tracking their cars. From this and other posts on Reddit, it’s likely that airports are the worst in dealing with returns.

Operate on a no-trust model even if the experience is top-notch from the beginning because it takes one error to mess everything up. Ensure you have all the evidence to back up your claims, and also make sure the car is properly registered as returned.

AI striker winning the ball without tackling. Just one of those things yeah.

Squad battles on legendary. Evolved 93 champion icon Reijnders bodied by a gold Lukaku. All this while shielding. Guess it’s pointless. If they want it, they’ll take it.

Different rules for AI players. Guess it’s JUST a game yeah. Why take it so seriously ..

EA think it’s a grand idea making one of the objectives to score 3 free-kicks (by ROSHN league TOTS). It’s so hard to even win one, let alone score one.

Any tips on how to win a free-kick in squad battles?

Just happened this morning around 0705 at the NYP entrance, junction of AMK Ave 5 and AMK St 53.

Judge the driver yourself. In short, the female driver paused after realising she beat the red light, then just drove right ahead across my path without due care.

I couldn’t capture the number plate but if someone knows how to, or has a video from a different perspective, do let me know.

A friend shared this problem with me, where there is a disagreement with the answer. I posted the question into search and AI engines.

This is the question:

“The question says Amy told her parents she earned $10,000 this month. This figure has been rounded off to 2 sig fig.

What is the least amount of money she could have earned?”

Apparently there is a discordance between 2 similar searches in Google and Gemini, reporting 9950 and 9500 as the answers. We believe the answer is 9950.

Where is the actual flaw in the logic in the answer 9500?
