Can you even fully comprehend the Christian faith without the sacrament of Confirmation?

Speaking from my personal experience, as a lifelong Catholic I always loved the faith and prayer, but as a kid it felt more like a being fan of the faith and Church, kind of a superficial relationship. After Confirmation I had a deeper conversion experience where I realised the importance of faith, understood more intuitively where it stemmed from, and realised the importance of proselytism. So without that Sacrament of Confirmation is it even possible to fully comprehend the Christian faith without those gifts of the Holy Spirit?
