How to transition potted Mango tree from store bought potted mix to a pine bark mix?
I have a Mango tree that I got three years ago. I am planning to up pot it and I recently learned that the big box store potting mix is really not good. I want to upgrade the potting mix for this container Mango tree to a pine bark based mix.
The tree is currently healthy. It was its first year flowering but buds did not set. I recently pruned it for the summer and the new flush is already growing.
- How safe is it to bare root this tree?
- What would my steps be to remove the old potting mix and transition it?
- Should I even transition it to a new mix?
