Starfield production took almost 8 years. And the game wasn’t a success. One of the reasons that it took so long is that they worked on creation engine 2.
Todd said in the latest interview that they are working on modernizing the engine, creation engine 2.5 or something (they will probably name it 3). For the game to be good (at least skyrim level) wouldn’t they need 6 years of production or something? (2029-2030 release)
