Confused between Physics and Engineering, here's the context

So, lemme explain you my dilemma.

First of all, I am doing my degree in Physics with minor mathematics from a central university of India.

I am currently in the first semester and I am loving it till now.

But, I belong to a financially poor family and being a solo child with unhealthy parents, I do have a lot of financial responsibilities. Not immediate but y never know what will happen in the very next moment.

So I do have the option of pivoting to a good level engineering college in India, it's NIT. You can say mid level nits. There I can most probably get ECE and might also get CSE if I have good luck.

So, I am kinda confused between these two.

Physics

-> it is of my interest and I love the subject. If I become able to crack JAM entrance with good score (I am pretty sure I can), I can get into top IITs for MSc

Physics. The point is, there are no direct industry jobs after MSc. Even if there are then it is v underpaid kinda stuffs. I also have to do a PhD which is again more 4-5 yrs.

Engineering

-> if I choose this then after 4 years I may have a good or say decent job provided that I work on my skills during those 4 years. I am afraid to choose this because I am not sure whether I will like the subject and will I be able to put whatever I have into it or not.

So, please help me with your pov on this. Detailed response will be highly appreciated.
