I gave one of my employees a company-issued laptop. She’s been incredibly loyal and has worked really hard for the past 2.5 years. this picture g14(reference only) this is mine bought this week 2025 g14 rtx 5080. Why? I have this laptop for its compact size and perfect for travelling and gaming/work abroad. My main work horse is dell xps 2024 16in and it’s too bulky whenever i travel
She handles a lot of our creative work, marketing collaterals, 3D rendering, and video editing. On her first day at the company, we talked about gaming and I found out she’s into games too. She has a Switch Lite and a PS4.
So I decided to let her use my personal G14 2024 RTX 4070 w/ 32gb ramfor work. Before that, she was using a mid-tier ASUS Zenbook with a lcd panel 16gb ram, so color grading was pretty challenging for her.
I also told her, “Feel free to play on it too.” As a little bonus, I told her she could pick any AAA game she wants, regardless of price especially since Steam sale naman 😄
She also got a salary increase because of her performance! well deserved.
I’m a gamer too after work, so I understand how gamers think. I know that sometimes, giving someone the right tools (and a little joy on the side) can go a long way.
TLDR: Gave a hardworking employee a better laptop for creative work and let her enjoy gaming on it too, along with a raise, because the right tools and a bit of happiness can boost performance.
