V3.15.6 Beta is rolling out now, and with it, Viwoods Cloud is officially live. This is the update many of you have been waiting for — cross-device sync for your notes, meetings, knowledge base, memos, and daily planning.

Before we get into what's new, we want to address something important that a few beta testers have already flagged.

⚠️ Important: Account-based data isolation & why some files may appear missing

Starting with this version, your device data is now securely tied to the account you're signed in with. This is a fundamental change to how files are stored and organized under the hood. It means:

• Data from different accounts is strictly separated.
• If you sign out and sign back in with a different account, you won't see the previous account's files.

If you've updated and some of your files seem missing — especially in Learning — please try this:

1. Sign out of your account on the device.
2. Sign back in.
3. When prompted on the login screen, choose "Migrate Now".

This should restore access to your existing files under the new account-bound structure.

What's new in V3.15.6 (the highlights)

• Viwoods Cloud — automatic sync for Paper, Meeting, Knowledge Base, Memo, and Daily. Toggle sync per app, 10 GB free storage included.
• Unified Notes Password — Paper and Meeting now share one password, managed under Settings > Security Settings.
• Paper improvements — duplicate entire notebooks, move pages between notebooks, import PDFs to specific folders.
• Memo overhaul — multi-page memos, circle-to-To-Do, new backgrounds, list view, and handwriting-recognized filenames.
• File management — import from local storage or third-party cloud into any Paper folder.
• Daily To-Do fix — resolved an issue where To-Do content could be lost during export or sync.

Some of you have been asking about it since day one. Others have told us it's the one thing keeping them from going all-in on Viwoods. We've heard every single one of those comments, and we've been working on it.

📝 Memo — from quiet corner to center stage

We'll be honest: Memo has been the underdog of our app lineup. It was there, it worked, but it never really felt like it belonged. A lot of you told us exactly that — and we listened.

The upcoming update gives Memo a proper overhaul. We're not going to list every change just yet, but if you've ever thought "Memo could be useful if only it did X" — there's a decent chance X is in this build. It's more capable, more integrated, and frankly, more deserving of a spot on your home screen than it was before.

We get a fair number of questions across Discord, DMs, and comment threads that don't always make it into a full post. Figured it'd be worth collecting a few of the recent ones here — chances are if one person asked, someone else is wondering too.

❓ Can I use Gboard handwriting with my stylus on the AiPaper?

Yes — Gboard's handwriting input works with the stylus on both AiPaper and AiPaper Mini. Chinese handwriting supports full-screen input and converts directly to text. For English handwriting, you might notice the "Write in text fields" option doesn't show up — that appears to be a language-specific limitation in Gboard itself, not the device. Either way, we've been optimizing stylus latency with Gboard, so handwriting should feel responsive.

❓ Is there a way to set the device to auto-shutdown after being idle for a while?

Not yet — this is a feature request we've heard from a few users recently. It makes a lot of sense for battery preservation, especially if you don't use your device every day. It's been logged with the team. No timeline to share just yet, but it's on the radar.

❓ Will the C1 Ceramic Stylus scratch or damage my AiPaper screen?

Nope — the C1 is fully compatible with the AiPaper, and the ceramic tip won't damage the screen. Every device goes through durability testing before it ships, and the factory-applied writing film is designed to handle daily use, ceramic nibs included. You don't need an extra screen protector — in fact, adding one might affect the writing feel.

❓ Do PDFs with clickable hyperlinks work on the AiPaper?

Yes, they do. The Learning app supports hyperlinks within PDFs, so interactive tables of contents, cross-reference links, and navigation tabs all work as expected. A few community members have been building linked planners specifically for their AiPaper and using them daily with great results.

If you're using an AiPaper or AiPaper Mini and taking notes across multiple days in the Daily app, you've probably asked yourself: where did I leave that one task from last Tuesday?

The TO-DO Overview, introduced in V3.14.5, is designed to answer exactly that question. It gives you a single, unified view of all your tasks across every day, with simple filtering and view toggles so you can find what you need without endlessly flipping through pages.

Here's how it works.

What the TO-DO Overview actually does

The TO-DO Overview aggregates every to-do item you've created in the Daily app, regardless of which day you created it on. Instead of hunting through individual dates to find an unfinished task, you open one centralized view and see everything in one place.

This is particularly useful if:

• You use Daily across multiple projects and dates
• You frequently carry over unfinished tasks from previous days
• You want a quick pulse check on what's done and what's still pending

Switching between Week View and Month View

Once you're in the TO-DO Overview, you can toggle between two views:

• Week View — shows tasks for the current week at a glance. Ideal for short-term planning and daily stand-up style reviews.
• Month View — zooms out to the full calendar month. Better for spotting patterns, tracking long-running tasks, or planning ahead.

You'll find the toggle at the top of the TO-DO Overview screen. Tapping it instantly switches the display — no loading, no lag.

Filtering by All, Finished, or Unfinished

Above your task list, there are three filter tabs:

• All — displays every task, regardless of status
• Finished — only shows completed items
• Unfinished — only shows items you still need to complete

This filtering is session-based, meaning you can quickly flip between views to get the information you need at that moment. Tap "Unfinished" first thing in the morning to focus on what's due. Switch to "All" at the end of the week for a full review.

How tasks show up here

Any to-do created in the Daily app — whether typed or handwritten — appears automatically in the TO-DO Overview. You don't need to tag tasks, assign them to a special folder, or change your writing habits. The system picks them up by default.

If you've been using the batch creation feature (also new in V3.14.5), groups of tasks created in one session will all flow into the Overview together, keeping things clean from the start.

A practical workflow to try

Here's one way users are already integrating the TO-DO Overview into their day:

1. Morning: open the TO-DO Overview, switch to Unfinished, and quickly scan what's carried over from yesterday.
2. Throughout the day: add new tasks in Daily as they come up.
3. End of week: switch to Month View, filter by All, and review what got done vs. what needs to roll forward.

It's a lightweight system that works without needing to learn a new productivity framework. You decide how much structure you want.

This is the big one. You can now remap the physical side button to whatever function you reach for most. Eraser? Lasso? Highlighter? Pick it, set it, and stop digging through menus mid-thought. It's a small change in settings with an outsized impact on how fluid the device feels day to day.

⚡ Ghosting and display clarity, overhauled.

We went deep on the refresh pipeline. Page turns are visibly cleaner, with far less ghosting and text residue. Blacks look deeper, text is sharper, and the overall reading experience is noticeably crisper. Whether you're in a novel or a dense PDF, your eyes will feel the difference.

🧠 AI gets a full engine swap.

All AI features now run on the latest generation of large language models: GPT-5.5, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Gemini 3.5 Flash, and DeepSeek V4. Summaries, translations, content refinement — all faster, sharper, and more contextually aware than before.

🔤 New curated fonts.

A handpicked selection of typefaces is now available under Settings. Reading is personal, and the right font makes a difference.

📱 WeRead screen timeout fix.

WeRead can no longer override the system sleep timer. Battery life breathes easier now.

🔖 Mark System — leave breadcrumbs, jump back instantly

Ever circled something important with the lasso, then lost track of where it was?

Now when you select content with the lasso, a "Create Mark" icon appears. Tap it, and that spot is saved. Every Mark shows up in the sidebar, ordered by page — tap any entry, and you jump directly to that exact location. No scrolling, no guessing.

Need to remove a Mark? Circle the content again or double-tap to bring up the edit pop-up, then tap to cancel. Clean and simple.

Perfect for:

• Flagging key passages in research PDFs
• Marking action items in meeting notes
• Bookmarking sections you'll need to revisit later

📑 Outline System — build structure, skip the chaos

For documents that need actual architecture — study guides, project plans, long-form writing — you can now build an Outline directly inside Paper.

Create entries from the "More" menu or the multi-page editing view. The sidebar populates with your structure, and you can rename or delete entries anytime.

Tap any outline item, and you're there. Think of it as a built-in table of contents that you control.

Both tools live in the same sidebar, so once you're in a document, everything is one tap away.

This update introduces some highly requested features, fixes known issues, freshens up our UI design, and significantly boosts overall system performance and user experience.

📅 Daily App

1. "Logs" Section Optimization (Formerly "Others")

• The "Others" tab has been officially renamed to "Logs".
• Same-Day Note Creation Only: To keep your records precise and well-organized, the "+" button will now be grayed out and disabled for any date other than the current day.

2. Global To-Do Overview

• Added a brand-new global To-Do overview page with seamless switching between Week View and Month View.
• By default, tasks are sorted in reverse chronological order (newest tasks always stay on top).
• Quickly filter your tasks by "All", "Completed", or "Pending" statuses.

3. Desktop Display & Daily App Sync

• Your e-paper home screen will now stay perfectly synced with the specific Tab you are working on today.
• When entering via the Daily desktop title, Home sidebar, or Task Management, the screen will automatically display the exact date and Tab you last left off.
• Entering Daily from a specific desktop Tab will instantly open the associated content.

4. Smoother Handwritten To-Dos

• Optimized the creation and editing of handwritten To-Do items. Now supports supplementing existing items and batch-creating handwritten tasks.

1. Unified PDF & Document Management

• PDF files are now fully integrated into the Paper file management system, allowing you to classify and manage them right alongside your native Paper documents.
• Added a dedicated document management icon to the sidebar menu for lightning-fast navigation.

2. Enhanced Tagging System

• Quick Tagging: Simply circle/select any content and tap the new "Create Tag" icon to instantly mark it.
• Jump-to-Source: Tags will sync to the sidebar menu; a single tap will jump precisely to that specific page.
• Easy Removal: Need to cancel a tag? Just circle the area again or double-tap to open the edit pop-up and remove it.

3. Brand-New Outline System

• Create Outlines Easily: Access the new Outline entry point via the "More Features" menu or the "Multi-Page Editing" interface to structure your long documents in seconds.
• Full Control: Easily rename or delete your outlines directly from the sidebar.

🎙️ Paper / Meeting Modules

1. Enhanced Voice Recording

• 60-Minute Limit: Single recording limits have been extended up to 60 minutes, paired with a beautifully optimized UI timer display.
• Display Control: The recording menu now features a smart sub-toggle: the drop-down arrow only appears when actual recording data exists. Added a "Recording Display Toggle"—turn it off to hide the recording floating window for an ultra-clean reading layout.

2. Smarter AI & Transcription Workflow

• Continuous AI Commands: We’ve upgraded the AI polishing and summary extraction logic. After seeing the first AI result, you can now re-select content or instantly re-run commands without resetting.
• Real-Time Feedback: The right sidebar now displays the current recording segment's name in real-time, making it easy to distinguish between different files.
• Export & Share Easily: Export your transcriptions and AI-polished texts directly to TXT or PDF formats. Added a "One-Tap Copy All" button so you can paste text anywhere into the system.

3. Accidental Touch Prevention (Anti-Mistouch)

• Added a dedicated text-viewing scrollbar. Dragging the scrollbar to read long texts will no longer accidentally trigger the virtual keyboard, ensuring an uninterrupted reading experience.

🎓 Learning Module

• Now supports exporting your highlighted text.
• Changing system font sizes will no longer distort or affect the original document layout.
• You can now call AI features for full-page content (including your own handwritten notes!).
• Heavy PDF zooming is now lag-free, delivering a silky-smooth experience.
• Added full zoom support when switching PDFs to landscape mode.
• Optimized blank PDF pages with added templates and quick-delete options.
• Selecting text with your finger or stylus is now noticeably more responsive and natural.

🔮 Knowledge Base

• Significantly improved the click-sensitivity of the Floating Ball.
• Optimized the cropping experience: after circling an area, simply tap outside the selection to cancel.
• Post-OCR recognition now includes direct sharing and AI instructions (AI Assistant & Custom Prompts).
• Fixed the sluggishness when dragging screenshot areas and smoothed out the save interaction.
• Optimized the saving interaction for Quick Notes.

We'll be reviewing every suggestion in the comments, and the most compelling ideas will be considered for inclusion in future official template updates. Alongside that, we're also planning to bring in a selection of professionally designed premium templates from third-party creators.
