Week 27: Enriched Dough - Lemon Blueberry Rolls
The base dough recipe here uses a tangzhong, butter, whole milk, and egg to enrich it and is SUPER soft and fluffy! https://cooklikelauren.com/breakfast/homemade-cinnamon-rolls/

Pie crust, with fresh peach pie filling, topped with an oat crumble 😋
With fathers day on the horizon and a husband who does not like sweets (I know. A travesty!) I wanted to figure out a way to bake him something savory and with everyone posting their gorgeous star/snowflake bread, I thought "I BET I could put buffalo chicken dip in that!" Husband was ECSTATIC.
When life gives you lemons and leftover ricotta, you should definitely make this.

I did not make the glaze to the recipe, because I wanted it to be more an icing. So I doubled the powdered sugar and added lemon zest to it for some flavor. But other than that no changes. It's denser than I thought it would be, but it is super moist and delicious.

This is really good, but just beware the blog portion of this has some rhetoric that made me roll my eyes. Highly recommend ignoring that but and just skipping to the recipe. I used all AP flour and nothing organic.🤠

My ganache didn't want to cooperate with me, but MAN these were tasty! Definitely a fun way to wake my kid up from her first sleepover. 😎
Had to cook the curd down quite a bit more than I was anticipating here based on other recipes I've used but it is VERY tasty!
Also uh... do not use free range eggs to make strawberry curd it makes this really weird orange color 🤣
Waited to the last second for these 🙈 recipe from Sally's but I just made the base recipe and added food coloring 😅
Hello! I am hoping to get either bust or half-body character art for use in social media marketing for a queer lit novella.
Total of three characters (all human men, nothing in terms of complex clothing/tattoos/armor/fantasy elements!). I have some very rough doodles colored with my kids colored pencils that I will (embarrassedly) share for reference. I'm open to styles but was thinking a semi-cartoony (either anime or western) would make the most sense?
Looking at a max budget of $300 for all three with permitted socmed use. 🙂
I was going to try to do something else for this week (was going to try to do a sweet-low-sugar!) but I've got some sort of super fun allergy-sinus-spring cold situation happening so I'm putting the batch of bagels I made for the week here and calling it good enough. Tried a new sourdough bagel recipe for this and I think that came out pretty well. There's about a tablespoon of honey for the full 16-bagel batch. 😊
