Week 24: Showstopper - Buffalo Chicken Star Bread

With fathers day on the horizon and a husband who does not like sweets (I know. A travesty!) I wanted to figure out a way to bake him something savory and with everyone posting their gorgeous star/snowflake bread, I thought "I BET I could put buffalo chicken dip in that!" Husband was ECSTATIC.

Week 23: Quickbread - Lemon Ricotta Loaf

When life gives you lemons and leftover ricotta, you should definitely make this.

I did not make the glaze to the recipe, because I wanted it to be more an icing. So I doubled the powdered sugar and added lemon zest to it for some flavor. But other than that no changes. It's denser than I thought it would be, but it is super moist and delicious.

Week 21: With a Hole - Donuts

My ganache didn't want to cooperate with me, but MAN these were tasty! Definitely a fun way to wake my kid up from her first sleepover. 😎

[Hiring] Character Art for Book Marketing

Hello! I am hoping to get either bust or half-body character art for use in social media marketing for a queer lit novella.

Total of three characters (all human men, nothing in terms of complex clothing/tattoos/armor/fantasy elements!). I have some very rough doodles colored with my kids colored pencils that I will (embarrassedly) share for reference. I'm open to styles but was thinking a semi-cartoony (either anime or western) would make the most sense?

Looking at a max budget of $300 for all three with permitted socmed use. 🙂

I was going to try to do something else for this week (was going to try to do a sweet-low-sugar!) but I've got some sort of super fun allergy-sinus-spring cold situation happening so I'm putting the batch of bagels I made for the week here and calling it good enough. Tried a new sourdough bagel recipe for this and I think that came out pretty well. There's about a tablespoon of honey for the full 16-bagel batch. 😊
