Received an email saying they're going to close my dormant account but can't get any information. I'm in Australia
I lived in London for a few years and came back to Australia in 2010. I thought I had finalised everything but have recently received an email from HSBC to say I have a dormant account which they are going to close in a couple of months unless I contact them. I have tried calling several times but get a call centre in India who won't tell me anything because I don't have my account details. The only other thing they will accept is the address that's on the account but I don't know that either. I've given them every address I lived at while I was there and they say none of them are the address on record. When I ask to be put through to someone who can help me they refuse and say there is noone else that can help.
I can't find any number to call that's actually in England and I obviously don't have the App and can't go into a branch. They don't have any way to contact them that's helpful to me.
Can anyone help me out with a contact number or email or any suggestions on what to do in this situation?
It's my money and they are making it impossible for me to get it back!
Thanks
