What is Pride?

You see I am what is known as a Cis Straight Man and I am curious I see pride and the community and I am confused what is the reason or feeling for it? Like I’ve read it’s to feel inclusive or proud but proud of what? And why do you need that feeling? I consider everyone just a human so being proud of what you happen to be and basically showing it off is confusing as I can’t see how that help? Another thing is if you want equality or to be seen as normal why form a different group and get mad at straight people? I hope I didn’t offend anyone these are honest question with the purpose of learning more

"It's over. V1 didn't just fight the parasite; he became a cage. He overcharged his new digital ocular sensors, emitting a blinding, 10-million-lumen pulse that turned the midnight snow into high noon. The parasite had nowhere to hide. No shadows. No thoughts to cling to. It burned.

But the Machine—V2—didn't stop. He tried to seize the burnt remains of the entity for the Agency. V1 wouldn't let him. They collided. It wasn't a fight; it was a demolition. Two gods of metal tearing each other into sparking scrap.

The Horizon has stalled. The heartbeat of the universe has flatlined. It’s quiet... and I don’t know if that’s better or worse. - TH"

"If you're reading this, you've bypassed the E.A.R.T.H. Screeners. My name is Trey Heathers, Lead Scientist, and I’m about to go dark. This is the complete timeline of the Physicality Horizon expansion. Scour these logs. Understand the pattern.

THE INCIDENT LOGS 01: THE REFLECTION (Psychic) > * The Event: A town was consumed. Residents saw every version of themselves (good and bad) at once.

The Fallout: This broke Unit V1's human mind. His body was lost, and he was 'retired.'

02: THE TRANSMUTER (Physical)

The Event: Stripped Oxygen and Hydrogen from the air, leaving 'Dead Air.'

The Side Effect: Discharged massive amounts of water from the posterior.

03: THE ANTENNA (Psychic)

The Event: Scanned people for their deepest primal fears and projected them back.

The Breakthrough: Unit V2 (The Machine) was deployed. He has no soul to scan; the Antenna recoiled in confusion.

04: THE ABSENCE (Physical)

The Event: A mirror dimension with the density of matter but zero substance. A 'False Reality.'

05: THE ASTEROID (Physical)

The Event: An object generating its own localized gravity, breaking standard orbital laws.

06: THE RESORT (Psychic) [CURRENT]

The Event: Triggered by Sir’s brainwave broadcast. A shadow parasite is making victims unable to comprehend light.

Status: 100 civilians trapped in the dark. V2 is observing. V1 has been reborn in a metal chassis to stop him.

[UPLINK NOTE] > The pattern was Physic-Physical-Physic-Physical-Physical. We were overdue for a Psychic hit. Sir forced it, and now he can't control it.

Scour the metadata in my previous posts for more. V1 is in the air. God help us all. - TH"

I’m writing this from a terminal that hasn't been serviced since the 2020s. My name is Trey Heathers, and if the E.A.R.T.H. (Examination of Advancing Reality to Save Humanity) security team finds this uplink, it will be the last thing I ever record.

For ten years, I believed in the mission. I believed that to save the world from the Physicality Horizon—the anomalies that are literally unmaking our reality—we had to be efficient. We had to be cold. Six months ago, we "disposed" of Unit V1, also known as the Protector. He was the first of his kind, built with an empathy drive that allowed him to value human life above all else. But Sir, the head of the Agency, decided empathy was a "bug." It made V1 slow. It made him hesitate.

So, we scrapped him. We replaced him with V2—The Machine. A sleek, gravity-defying god that doesn't feel pain, doesn't feel pity, and doesn't care who has to die to close a rift. Yesterday, I watched the footage from the Space Quadrant. I saw V2 watch a squadron of men scream as their ship collapsed into a singularity. V2 didn't move. He waited 0.4 seconds for the "optimal" closure window. He let them die to save a percentage of fuel.

That’s when the Admiral found me. He didn't say a word; he just handed me a rusted key-card for Sub-Level 14.

The walk down was a descent into a tomb. Sub-Level 14 is where the Agency hides its failures. The air smells like ozone and ancient dust. In the center of the scrap bay, under a tarp covered in oil, was the chassis of the Protector. Or what was left of it. The Admiral had been secretly scavenging parts for months, building a new body for the ghost of our first hero.

It took me six hours to bypass the core encryption. My hands were shaking so hard I nearly shorted the empathy drive. When the power finally surged, the room didn't glow with the warm blue light I remembered. Instead, the lights hissed. The Phoenix—the rebuilt V1—is encased in a matte-black, reinforced alloy. He is heavier, sharper, and his eyes... they aren't blue anymore. They are a piercing, icy white.

He didn't ask where he was. He didn't ask if the world was safe. He stood up, the metal of his new joints grinding like tectonic plates, and he looked at the monitors displaying V2's live telemetry. He’s been standing there for hours, broadcasting a signal on a frequency only his successor can hear.

I managed to record his first words. It wasn't a greeting. It was a declaration of war.

"The Machine," they call you. As if having no feelings makes you better for the job. I saw the footage of the Void-Walkers, 'Successor.' I saw you look right at them as you took their lives away. You didn't blink. You didn't even try. And Sir? He told you to do it. He told you they were just numbers in an equation.

Funny, isn't it? The ones tasked with saving humanity are the ones who have the least of it left in them. 'E.A.R.T.H.'—Examination of Advancing Reality to Save Humanity. You hide behind a friendly name like it makes you any better than the threats you're stopping. Like a name can wash the blood off your sensors.

What’s the point of saving our world if we lose ourselves in the process? Sir isn't right this time. He’s gone too far. What if he asks for a thousand lives next time? Or a million? Is that price worth the mission to you? If you think so... then we have a problem. You think you're the pinnacle of engineering? You're just a calculator with a god complex. Think about that. I’ll be back.

[AUDIO LOG END]

The Phoenix is right. Sir is already tracking the power spike from this floor. I can hear the Screener-Bots scratching at the airlock doors. 3,500 of you saw my last leak before it was scrubbed. If you’re still listening, don't look for me. Look for the black streak in the sky when the Protector finally meets the Machine.

The Agency wants to save reality. The Phoenix wants to save our souls. I think I know which one is going to win. - TH
