No contour lines visible on maps (C2U 6.3.13.7)

No contour lines visible on maps (C2U 6.3.13.7)

Updated my C2u to the new sw version 6/3/13/7.

I can read there:

"【Optimizations】

  1. Improved readability of contour lines on the map."

I don´t see there any contour lines on my maps. Have even deleted the map from device and downloaded again via Zepp app. And yes, I have downloaded with contour lines and it is enabled in the map setting. Is it an issue or am I too dump to recognize the contour lines?

I have also tried for some other regions with higher mountains (for ex. Mont Blanc), but I don´t see any contour lines? Has someone perhaps a shot, how it should look at the map? Thanks!

Btw: have also sent a report and pics via Zepp App to support team.

Please add possibility to add waypoints and to display different coordinate systems for C2U

The CU2 is a great watch and for example highlighted on the Amazfit homepage for trail running.

But I am missing some functionality:

the possibility to add waypoints! A good outdoor watch has to have this possibility, most of the competitors like Garmin have this as a basic functionality! And even a third party app from the Zepp App Store is offering this possibility for only this app (I have imported one gpx file with 70 waypoints):

https://preview.redd.it/t1lasnt26chh1.png?width=1170&format=png&auto=webp&s=ef98a583a94f073182d778a4628ffc9e7c13b49f

So Amazfit, come on! In the September Software Update road map for CU2 (and other models) is mentioned: “ improved waypoint management”, I really hope this includes what I am requesting here!?

And a good outdoor watch has to have also the possibility to switch between different coordinate systems and should have a configurable data field for this. For example Garmin is offering this as a basic functionality for the Fenix series for years! This is unfortunately missing for the C2U, too.☹️

I have read, that the T-Rex 3 offers the possibility to change the coordinate system (to see coordinates you have to tab on the map page), but also still is missing a data field for it.

I really love my C2U, but it has still room for some use-/helpful improvements ! Thanks for reading🤘🏴‍☠️

Routing on highways instead of using bike paths (Cheetah 2 Ultra)

I let my C2U create a route with the map app for outdoor cycling and it preferred unfortunately highways instead of the for the on the map available bicycle path (on which I was riding) and it tried the whole time a rerouting on the highway.

Btw: why is the automatic route navigation only available for the map app and only for 3 types of activities?

Unnecessary turn-by-turn prompts

I know this has been mentioned several times before, but I’m bringing it up again. I created a route in the Zepp App and sent it to my C2U. I was on a narrow path heading uphill—with no other path anywhere in sight—yet I received turn prompts like "slight right," etc., at least ten times along the route. It’s completely unnecessary there; there’s nowhere else to go..

Add possibility to rename downloaded maps

I have downloaded a map part of Germany. It seems to me that the automatically given name for the map is taking a name from a town the middle of the downloaded area (in this case: Bremen). Please add the possibility to rename the maps. Or is it already possible and I have overlooked it?

Navigation: My route (order of saved courses)

If I save/sync a course to my C2U and go to „my course”, always the courses are shown in order in which I have saved them. They should be listed by distance from the current location, and the user should also have the option to select an alphabetical order.

Poi mess (c2U)

The Zwölferkopf summit has a height of 1287 meters. On my C2U is shown:

Missing POI category?

Have I overlooked it, but I miss a POI category “Sights and Attractions” (or something like that) on my CU2!? I am in Berlin at the moment for some sightseeing, some attractions are buried in other categories, but…

Watch/wrist size comparison tool

Since questions frequently arise about whether a watch fits or looks good on a particular wrist size, interested individuals could use this tool to get an idea. I stumbled over it, while I was searching something. While seeing the watch on your wrist in person is still the best option, that often isn't possible. You can either select a specific watch or, if it is not in the system, work with the watch's dimensions to get a first overview.

https://watchfittool.com/?slugs=amazfit-balance-2%2Ccustom-circular-51.8-51.8-15-1783661823712

Perhaps this will be useful for some people to get an initial assessment.

Sorry, if it is already somewhere here posted.

Button/crown question BU/B3/C2U

The Balance Ultra has 4 buttons + a crown, while the Balance 3 has 3 buttons and a crown (if I have understand correctly).

Why (does that one extra button account for the higher price—j/k)?

What is the/ is there an advantage of having 3 or 4 buttons and a crown compared to models with only 4 buttons (e.g., Cheetah 2 Ultra)? Better/easier to use?

Battery usage C2U

The figures cited by Amazfit are merely theoretical values determined under laboratory conditions. Amazfit itself states on its website for the C2U:

"Typical Use Battery Life: Up to 30 days

The battery life may vary according to the settings, operation conditions and other factors. So the actual result may differ from the laboratory data."

I’ve used my C2U sparingly over the last 9 days: AOD off, Bluetooth connected to phone from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Wi-Fi off, max. 10 minutes of music per day, only about 3 hours of GPS usage in total over the last 9 days, sleep tracking enabled, Auto blood O2 minitor enabled, heart rate monitoring set to 5-minute intervals, and no calls, about 30 incomming messages per day. After 9 days, I have 31% battery left, and the estimate suggests another 4 days of use, resulting in a total potential battery life of about 13 days.

I never expected to reach 30 days, but I used my C2U sparingly, but wore it 24/7. I really hoped for more then 13/30 days. But still somewhat disappointing. But it is like it is.

What experiences regarding battery life can other C2U users report?

But I can watch this only 2 more days, because I am going on a 4 days trip to Berlin on Saturaday and there I need a full charged device.

Edit data pages

Ok, coming from Garmin after using 14 years Fenix devices, Garmin has some nice settings, which perhaps makes the setting of the watch more user friendly/ easier to configure:

  • add possibility to edit/save activity data pages also via Zepp app
  • posibility to copy edited/configured data pages from one app to another app (if you are using almost the same data fields/pages for several apps, you won’t have to configure each app on it’s own).

By the way: This isn't meant as a criticism of Amazfit, but simply as a few suggestions to make Amazfit even better! And there’s nothing wrong with looking to the competition for inspiration! 😉🤘

Barometer

If I look on the barometer of my C2U, I see an altimeter graph and a barometer graph, both for the last 4 hours, which are showing the current altitude/air pressure value. The graphs are showing the last 4 hrs. It would be nice, if the graph would show also the lowest/highest altitude/air pressure with number, like Garmin is doing.

Here a shot from a Garmin wearable/altimeter:

https://preview.redd.it/2vq0dbsbmjbh1.png?width=869&format=png&auto=webp&s=ebfdbcfbcbb88c02e1617afe6fbc5713a77bf13d

8 is the current altitude, 20 the highest and 1 the lowest altitude during the last 4 hrs (and you can also scroll back to the right, to see the values before the last 4 hrs). Would be nice to get this also for the C2U baro-/altimeter graph.

Navigation view (map) BipMax question

Can the user choose between "North up" and "Advanve up" for the navigation view on the Bip Max? The Bip 6 has only "North up" available. All Amazfit watches with maping should have both to choose!

Strap width

This is just my personal opinion: I think a device with a 51mm diameter ought to have a strap that is at least 24mm wide (or 26mm, like Garmin). Otherwise, it just looks a bit odd to me. I would have preferred a 24mm strap for my 47.4mm C2U as well (for me, 22mm is already pushing the limits).

Battery consumption after the Cheetah 2 Ultra July update (6.1.206.1)

Over the last two days, I’ve seen battery usage of 6% per day (with no GPS activity). That seems higher to me than before (I haven't changed any settings, etc.), though I could be mistaken. What has your experience been?
