SPES AP Plus 350 vs AP Light Plus 350

Beginner here, looking for gear advice for first jacket. SPES Kaftan was considered as well for thigh protection and drip potential, but most people say it's an oven of a jacket and I don't know whether Swordmaster armguards fit it well.

AP Plus 350 is currently on sale, so slightly cheaper than the Light Plus 350 and seems to be more padded, but it's a full kilo heavier and might be a bit too warm for my liking and local climate. Most people say AP Light Plus is one of the cooler jackets, only 15€ more expensive right now, but I don't know whether the extra padding of the AP Plus is worth it.

I mostly fence longsword and have ordered Swordmaster hard forearm and elbow guards. I don't plan to go to tournaments for a while, maybe sometimes in the future, one year from now or something like that.

Need advice on preventing wrist injuries

My friends and I practice longsword with boffers. After most sparring sessions, I feel a light pain in my right wrist when bending towards the pinky and when grabbing large objects. We don't thrust, but I believe I tend to hyperextend my wrist when doing flick cuts. I noticed it also happens when practicing with sticks in single hand.

I am taking a break from anything intensive until I recover, but when I do I would like to fix this issue. Since we are not in a club, I am asking you good people on general advice on how to prevent hyperextending my wrist.

Some additional questions:

Would buying longer gloves help with keeping my wrist more straight? I was thinking of grabbing the HF long gloves if it would help.

Would it make sense to wrap my wrist with something to prevent wrist movement in the thumb-pinky direction when practicing?

When sparring, I probably hold the sword too firmly. I do hold it in a handshake grip, but I should also probably relax my hand before impact. My bigger problem is with parries and countercuts, as it feels like they are too weak if I loosen the grip. Any advice on this issue?

Am I supposed to hold the sword tighter as I transition into a thumb grip, for example when throwing a zwerchhau?

Am I doomed to get my wrist wrecked when practicing sweeps from the wrists? Should I just stick with full shoulder rotation sweeps?
