Hornet Pierce, 32 years old

3rd place of Oka Sho '97 (the winner of the race was Kyoei March (grandmother of Marche Lorraine), while the second place was Mejiro Dober, who took victories on the later two Classics) - but never won the graded stakes afterwards.

Probably one of the oldest still living direct descendants of Sunday Silence (photo taken at anniversary of his death), currently living in small retirement farm Candy Farm in Urakawa.

Sungrazer - the colleague teacher of Mamechin at Oiwake Farm

Sungrazer (sire: Deep Impact), winner of Swan Stakes in 2017, and Yomiuri Milers Cup and Sapporo Kinen in 2018 under G1 Racing, retired from stud work at Yushun Stallion Station in 2025 - and got back at his birthplace in Oiwake Farm to work as a lead horse for the yearlings, same as his older colleague with the same background Fenomeno - and younger generation like him as well.

Even after badly losing at Derby, 2nd place of Yayoi Sho and 3rd placer of Satsuki Sho from Uehara team still doing good and not done yet, and won today as the favorite horse - though because of his way getting out of blocking near the finishing line his jockey Sasaki got the suspension today.

Seems like he's preparing for AkiTen, based on the distance?
