Enjoying my li'l lift and new shoes.

Enjoying my li'l lift and new shoes.

When I bought my Bronco in January, I paid cash and had to really think about what I'd use and wanted to pay for. I really didn't think I'd "need" the SAS package. I'm not a crawler, just a hiker/backpacker who likes to go on bumpy trails. It wasn't until I got home and started settling in and realized my Subaru had higher clearance that my stomach sank and I checked KBB pricing on my 2 week old Bronco to see if I could upgrade, lol. Nope.

Anyway, I asked in my local Bronco group for an honest off road shop that wouldn't take advantage of a car ignorant lady so I could get a functional lift and some bigger tires. A guy who removed/upgraded his SAS suspension shortly after purchase offered me his for free (yes, I know about the recall, but they look great and my area is DRY). That saved me big bucks, and then I found some SAS take off tires with under 100mi for a great price. One of the guys who runs the Bronco group came and installed everything at my house for a great price, and now I'm thrilled with it.

Took it on a little trail up here in the San Diego mountains after a hike yesterday, and it did so great, though now I need to figure out a better solution for side steps (I'm 4'11" so they're a necessity) since they scraped a couple times.

I just built a camping platform this week, and installed the Trailgater table. It's shaping up to be a great adventure vehicle. 😄

Best order of training hikes for Whitney?

I've got an overnight permit for Whitney in September and I'm getting my training plan together so I have the best chance to summit. I'm coming from San Diego, so unfortch most of the good training hikes are all a couple hours away, so I need to really plan things out since I have work and husband/kids to plan around. I'm hoping to get to 3-4 of them, along with my normal local hiking in Laguna/Cleveland Ntl.

Any recommendations on which ones to really aim for, and the best order? I'm not sure if I should aim for length or elevation gain as my starting point. I'm thinking San G for one of the last just due to weather conditions. The only one I've done before is San J. Hiked to the peak from the tram and backpacked it for 1 night recently from Deer Springs.

  • Mount Wilson via Little Santa Anita Canyon
    • Length - 14mi
    • Elevation Gain - 4,842ft
    • Peak - 5,713ft
  • Cucamonga Peak via Icehouse Canyon
    • Length - 11.7mi
    • Elevation Gain - 4,183ft
    • Peak - 8,862ft
  • Mount Baldy via Devil’s Backbone
    • Length - 14mi
    • Elevation Gain - 4,274ft
    • Peak -10,064ft
  • Mount Baden-Powell via Vincent Gap Trail
    • Length - 7.9
    • Elevation Gain - 2,746ft
    • Peak - 9,407ft
  • San Jacinto Peak from Marion Mountain
    • Length - 12.4
    • Elevation Gain - 4,471ft
    • Peak - 10,834ft
  • San Gorgonio via South Fork Trail
    • Length - 19.1mi
    • Elevation Gain - 4,708ft
    • Peak - 11,503ft

Scam? Or?

Anyone have anything weird like this happen?

Got this text from a dealership today. I have 0 recalls per the app. My ota backup cam recall has been taken care of weeks ago.

This is also not where I purchased my Bronco, nor had any service done. It is semi-local.

How would they even have my info?

Change tire info in Ford app?

I just went from stock 32’s to SAS takeoff 35’s and I’d like my tire info in the app to reflect the new recommended PSI. Is this possible, or will it always be off now?

New - switching to Tirz @ Fifty410 from Sema @ Hers.

Hello - I have been on Sema with poor results (5mo of nausea - only a 5lb loss), so I signed up to give Tirz a shot. It's been a week without a word since paying/placing the order to CA.

It seems long compared to other posts I'm reading. Is there any backlog or issues with some of the new proposed legislation?

Has anyone camped at LPL (before or) after their Whitney hike? I haven't been up there yet, but in photos it looks like there is only a small shore area. I'm wondering if it ever gets crowded, and if 3 tents would fit with enough room away from the water line. My permit is mid Sept.

I already have a campsite booked at the Portal for the evening after our (hopeful) summit, but I would rather camp at the lake vs a campground on the last night. When I raced to grab a permit, I put night 1 at Trail Camp and night 2 at Lone Pine lake, so I'm good in that respect.
