So, reading back through the trilogy of books, doesn't Outer Dark confirm that the Carchardons are Raven Guard successors? They get Raven Guard gene seed from the mechanicus which I assume requires the mechanicus to have some kind of confirmation that they are related to the Raven Guard.

I know the Ashen Claws call them mongrels, and ask if they had corrupted it with their lineage, so it's possible there's some other stuff mixed in there, but if they're able to requisition pure Raven Guard gene seed they have to be Raven Guard Successors right?
