Power difference between ignition on and ignition off

I've been wondering if it was worth switching the ignition off when I'm sitting in my etron for an extended period of time, since you have to turn it off and then back on with your foot off the brake, and then the steering wheel audio controls don't work. Using an OBD2 scanner, I was able to see that the power consumption is nearly 3x higher with the ignition on than with it off. Off = 400W, On = 1140W with the AC on. Granted that this would save less than 1% of the battery over the course of an hour, but I like that things that I'm not using are powered off, like the power steering.

Cheap OBD2 scanners do have useful information for etrons

I've seen so many posts saying that "regular" OBD2 readers don't work at all on etrons, but I just plugged in my $3 ELM327 clone and the $5 version of Car Scanner on my Android, and there is a ton of interesting live data available. You can see the cell voltage and temperature of every cell, total HV battery voltage and current, charge level, steering wheel angle, etc. Mine is a Q8, but there are profiles for all etrons (except the Q8, so I chose etron 55).

When I tried to unplug the OBD2 dongle, the car's connector popped out. Anyone know how to pop it back in or if something broke? It doesn't want to go back in easily.

Breaking a tire bead with a JET 17" drill press & bottle jack

I'm not sure this is a good forum for this, but I want to be able to change out TPMS sensors without waiting an hour at the tire shop. I previously used the bottle jack under a trailer hitch method, but I no longer have a vehicle with a hitch. I also tried dropping the car's brake rotor down on the bead, but it usually just sits there without breaking the bead and is somewhat terrifying if it does. I noticed that my JET 17" drill press has the right shape for breaking a bead. However, it would be prohibitively expensive if I broke it, so I'm wondering what others think about lowering the table bracket and putting a bottle jack under it, obviously as close to the post as possible to reduce the moment arm. The table bracket is U shaped with about 1/4" cast iron walls. I suspect the weak part would be the bracket or the threads holding it on. Thoughts?

This started the day after a tire change. I'm trying to figure out if it's most likely related to the tire change or just a coincidence that the battery died at the exact same time. I got these OEM sensors from ebay that were supposedly new in 2024, but the price was questionably low, so they could have been used. The confusing part is that everything I see for Techstream Battery Voltage shows "Over" or "Under" for whether the battery is good or not, and mine says "Reset" or "No Reset". When I reset the TPMS, everything goes back to No Reset, and all but ID3 eventually go to Reset. The wheels are in the same places as before the tire change, so the sensor isn't farther away from the receiver.

2016 Toyota RAV4 got 4 new Pirelli tires. The following day, the TPMS light was on and my OBD2 scanner showed codes for C2142 and C2143 malfunctions in the TPMS on two tires. I took the car to discount tire, and they were able to scan all of the sensors, and the IDs correctly matched what I installed two years ago. They said that there were no battery low indications. They did a TPMS reset through OBD2, but the light came back on after a few miles. The sensors are OEM TRW brand and were bought 2 years ago. Any idea what's going on since the sensors are transmitting but the car isn't picking them up? Based on my notes from rotating the tires myself in the past, the sensors are in the two rear tires and are in the same location as before the new tires.
