My girl has weak arms and a bloated belly!
Hello, this is my beautiful girl Yoko! I got her around 4-5 weeks ago from an exotic pet store. As I was able to get a closer look at her I realized she had a very small spot of mouth rot, struggled to use her arms while walking, and was very malnourished and dehydrated. I immediately made a vet appointment and they found that she had pinworms. She was treated for that, mouth rot, given some vitamins n such, and i’ve been giving her warm electrolyte soaks and feeding her watered down repashy grub pie every day. As for her arms, the vet told me not to worry and to let the medicine do its job. Yoko has put more weight on and is looking much much better, but her arms haven’t improved too much, she still refuses insects, and at times her belly is super bloated. She can now climb over the edge of her enclosure onto my hand but it’s a struggle. Also, she accidentally places one hand on the other a lot which causes her to trips up and her shoulder blades are still very visible despite her weight gain(her hind legs appear completely healthy and my best guess is MBD). I now have another appointment with a vet that has more gecko experience but it is 2 weeks away. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen/experienced anything similar to this, what it ended up being, and if there’s anything I can do before her appointment to help her with mobility and to transition to insects.
ps. Yoko and her quarantine tank aren’t typically nasty with repashy all on em lol, I just normally take pics before I clean her up and disinfect her tank so excuse the mess.
