TW: Grief/Parent Loss

Hi everyone,

I lost my dad this week, and even though I had mentally prepared for this moment for years (he’d had so many close calls), I still cannot handle this weight of heavy grief that has overcome me. I dealt with grief after losing my grandmother whom I was extremely close to, but the loss of a parent you’re close to has been a different kind of grief. He was a good man who tried so hard throughout life. An honest, hard worker who provided for his family of six and who wound up getting some unfortunate series of events in his final 15 years. Extremely talented, big heart, and just deserved so much more than he received.

I never thought I would post about this, but I am so heartbroken in grief that I needed to reach out to more people.
