My YouTube app on macos has a 'skip' on playback of 80% of music videos

In the last several months (August 2026), when playing music videos on my YouTube app for macos, the playback has at least one 'skip' in the audio. I've been listening to music videos consistently on YouTube since about 2020 and I've never had this problem before. Even with my old laptop computer. This is highly annoying. My Internet connection is very solid and fast. No other streaming app that I use has this problem. Something has changed in the YouTube streaming pipeline: the compression algorithm, the app buffering. Maybe this is YouTube's way of getting folks to upgrade to a paid subscription?

If you ever bought Levi's 501 shrink-to-fit (not pre-shrunk) 2+ inches too large in the waist and 4+ inches too long ...

These were the jeans that motivate pre-shrunk fabric. Took two or three tries to find the proper pre-shrunk size. I think Goodwill stores received many over-shrunk 501s. Was worth it after you dialed it in.

Today I Learned: Ser Duncan the Tall is referenced in s1 e3 "Lord Snow" of Game of Thrones

As Bran is lying bed being kept company by a nurse, she says, "I could tell you about Ser Duncan the Tall. Those were always your favorites." That is all.
