Should I volunteer at the university of the people? For experience

I’m about to complete my Master’s in Healthcare Admin and will be starting a Doctoral program in Healthcare Administration in Janurary. I currently have a great job in the healthcare field making nearly 200k but I’m also interested in giving back and eventually transitioning into academia, specifically a professor eventually.

I know that adjunct positions, especially at community colleges, can be highly competitive. I’ve been considering volunteering as an instructor at University of the People to gain teaching experience and have some formal teaching experience in my resume.

Professors, do you think this would be worthwhile? Would teaching there help me become a more competitive candidate for adjunct or faculty positions at other colleges or universities once I complete my doctorate?

Application question

Hi, I applied to this program and it says my application is still in program review but now it shows a student id number where it use to say pending. Does that mean I was accepted? Thanks

Hi. I’m probably paranoid. All sources state the check needs to be made payable to “U.S. Department of State”. When I went to the post office, the acceptance agent asked to see all my stuff before we could proceed. I gave her all the stuff including a money order for the correct amount but I hadn’t yet filled in the line of who it was payable to. She walked away with my documents and when she came back she had filled out the check to “U.S. Dept of State” will this abbreviation cause the state department to deny my application? Thanks
