Am I able to fly domestically in the US with a passport card but not the book?
I'm flying from Sacramento to Seattle

I'm a dual citizen, but do not have a real ID and haven't gotten my US passport yet. Can I use my country of origin passport to fly domestically?
Can a EU citizen at their departure from a EU country present at the EU border control their EU ID?
hey guys, i know something like this has been posted 100 times before. But i applied for visa with this passport and am really anxious about it. it has this water damage on the second page, I mean the page in front of the personal info one (personal info page 100% intact), and the exact same water damage on the next page. what do u guys think?
Thank you all!
I renewed my passport recently and also ordered a passport card. My passport arrived in about two weeks (yay!) but no card. Are they usually sent separately? P.s. no living president image on it, phew!
is this okay or am i deeping it too much? the front cover doesn’t fit over the rest of the pages properly and the cover is slightly creased.
Can a 20-year-old passport be used as ID to get a new one or does it require the birth certificate? It can't be renewed because it's too old. So it has to be a new application. So the only question is whether the old one can be used for the ID requirement.
Okay so probably a dumb silly question and I did search through google and believe I should be good to go, but doesn't hurt to get some quick answers to double check.
I don't have a California Real ID, only a passport. I'm flying to and back from Vegas this Fall. I should be good to go with just my passport book right?
I'm just not fully sure when Real IDs are in full effect or if its optional for domestic flights or even if certain states have certain rules. Online info is kinda confusing me.
TIA
I am leaving for Italy for my honeymoon from US Aug 30 and returning Sept 6. My passport expires 177 days from Sept 6. My travel agent is recommending I get an Emergency Passport (\~$1000) from HelloGov. I can mail mine in today (Aug 18) and overnight ship it & receive new one in \~ 4 business days. (Don’t ask why we are figuring this out 11 days before I leave)
edit — my agent mailed in her passport days ago for an Aug 29th trip so she is using the same system and says it’s reputable …
Everything I read online said Italy only requires a 3 month validity post-deport date. But she has heard of clients getting turned away if < 6 months or 180 days.
Has anyone experienced this? Should I pay the $1000 and hope I get my passport in time? Or risk it at Italy customs?
I also read that American Airlines might cause a stink when I go to check in with passport info.
HELP!
For context, I want to go see a concert down in Mexico City on the 12th of September. I’ve been working for around two weeks to afford a ticket to both the plane and the concert.
I have already mentioned to both of my parents about getting a new passport since my father lost it a while ago but now I have been really stressing since I only have around 2-3 weeks to get my passport.
I’ve done some research on an urgent 14 day passport but my parents are both skeptical whether it’s a real way to get it and how much it’ll cost to get it the same day.
If anyone has had experiences with getting an emergency passport I would like some advice on it.
EDIT: I forgot to mention it originally but I want to know if I'll have to do anything different as a minor? Like bringing a parent or having to bring other documents?
hi, i hope this doesnt sound silly. i somehow managed to get a small nick on my passport a few days ago, i already had my x1 visa printed and everything. im really worried this will cause an issue in china (shanghai) ?
everybody thinks im absurd, maybe i am, but im worried🥲 i heard china is very strict. im a very anxious person🫠
I just spilled a bunch of oil all over my passport (every single page😭) should i apply for a new one or am i okay to fly with this ?
So I got my British passport last month and it’s been sitting in my drawer. I’ve noticed brown staining on every page on the passport number at the bottom. Is this normal? Or is it damaged? There’s no other signs of damage.
I signed my child’s passport, but forgot his middle name. So i added it above his name, centered between first and last. My signature and relation are on two lines next to his name.
The passport office when i called said I’ll be fine but I’m nervous. Has anyone run into issues?
Hello all,
I renewed just my passport card and not the book due to costs ($30 vs $130) and I was happy to see people receiving their passport renewals within 7-10 days vs the expected 4-6 weeks listed on the website. However this appear to be just for passport books and have yet to see anyone mentioned passport card turnaround times. Anyone have any experience with recent passport card renewal times? Thank you!
Thanks to this Reddit group I was able to get all of my passports without paying for the extra fees.
We have a trip planned for 8/21 and were in need of 4 new passports and 2 renewal.
We first applied for the 4 new ones on July 10th. On July 14th they were processing. We Recieved 3 out of 4 around July 26th.
On August 5th i Recieved an email that I needed to respond to via mail about the 4th passport. I responded on the 8th via priority mail. I called on August 14th to get an appointment at the passport center, and put my bank information on file for expediting fees. August 17 I was charged for shipping fees. August 18th the final passport arrived.
As for the renewals, we applied online
One was applied for on July 15th and was received around 8/5
The second one was applied for on August 4th (with the extra shipping fees) and was received on August 13th.
Acceptance fee not cashed until August 4th. Finally on August 11th I called USPS and the very helpful national number assisted me and directly contacted the post office where it was accepted way back on July 23. Now it's the 17th and the dept of state money order hasn't been cashed and the status update sitll says unavailable.
This isn't just for travel this is FOR my life and income. I need current valid id asap. And what's really bothering me is it took forever to get my birth certificate because my home state want current id in order to release it. And now its in the missing application.
I should have gone into Washington, DC directly but it was so hot and I'm partially disabled so I took uber nearby.
Also I would have sent it two day since I had paid for 60 dollars expedited but the clerk told me I didn't need to bother with extra stuff. SO no proper tracking.
Does anyone have similar stories where it took forever to get from acceptance place ot the Philadelphia for sorting??
Ordered a the long birth certificate for my late father. It doesn’t list if he was born am or pm? How do I get this info? Do the 2 lines mean something? He was born in 1970
Hi all!
I just received my first US Passport today.
In my application, I filled out my place of birth correctly, as Maryland.
I got my passport, and my place of birth is listed as Pennsylvania, where I have lived for 10 years.
Is this a problem / will I have any problem traveling? Obviously I'd like to avoid a correction, especially since I have a time sensitive study Abroad Application due soon for my college.
Thank you!
I lost my passport and am traveling to Mexico sept 4. I have to wait for the rush window (sept 21) and have to go in person. I’m having a hard time figuring out on the website which is the right appt and also what exactly I need for that appt to make sure it all goes smoothly. Can someone please explain this process to me like I’m your child. 🙃
