My friend is a U.S. citizen traveling in London and was pickpocketed yesterday, they stole her wallet and it had her passport. She therefore also has no driver’s license or other physical photo ID.

She is supposed to take the train from London to Paris on Monday, Oct 5th.

She is trying to get an emergency passport appointment at the U.S. Embassy in London. We know she needs to go through the emergency passport process, but we’re trying to figure out the best way to actually get an appointment given the short timeline.

For anyone who has recently dealt with the U.S. Embassy in London for a lost/stolen U.S. passport, especially on an emergency basis:

- How did you get the emergency appointment?
- Did you email LondonPassports@state.gov, call, or use the online appointment system?
- How quickly did they respond?
- Did you receive a same-day/next-business-day appointment?
- Is there anything specific you said in the email or phone call that helped get it prioritized?
- Does having the Eurostar ticket to Paris Monday help?
- Lastly will the emergency passport be OK going from the UK to France?

Currently in Mexico City for 10 days. There is more then enough for us to do in and around the city. We currently have a full day (15 hrs) trip to Tolantongo. It’s an early AM start and a long time on the bus. But we are here for 10 days so have the time if it’s worth the long bus ride. Thoughts?

As many of us on this sub I am in a bit of an analysis paralysis. I prefer a medium/firm mattress (learned the hard way). Side sleeper and about 125 lbs. I think if I could pick anything I’d get the beautyrest black series 3 medium but trying to stay in the 2k range. I got the Helix twilight and it’s too firm (hence learned the hard way). I am still breaking it in, walking on it and sleeping of course but I’m not sleeping well and suspect it won’t soften too much more. I am working on my backup plan, the helix midnight is too soft so if I stayed with another helix I’d probably do the dusk. I also think I like the sealy posturepedic lacey euro top medium. It’s more firm than other mediums just hoping it’s not too firm when I get it home.
Quality wise if I am looking for something to last 8 plus years, what brand would you reccomend?
