Clubs in Mexico City

Hi! Traveling through Mexico from Germany. I was in a cool club in GDL called Lou Lou, pretty exclusive, went with some local friends. Now I'm in Mexico City with friends from Europe and we're looking for some local clubs. Any recommendations?"

In the World Cup really gonna ruin my Mexico City trip?

Just booked my first trip to Mexico City with my husband from the last week of June through the first week of July, and I’m SO excited. But now I keep getting feedback that I completely messed up by going during the World Cup and that the city is gonna be absolute chaos 😩

Is it really that bad? Like, is the city going to be insanely crowded and hard to enjoy, or are people being a little dramatic? Would love honest opinions from locals or anyone who’s been during big events like this!

SOAD 5/28

Hi guys, I planned a small trip to CDMX for the SOAD concert on May 28th, I was going to originally go with my best friend to the concert but she's backing out last minute since she's anxious about being in the pit area. I really don't want the ticket to go to waste, I'm NOT selling it, I just want a fan who wasn't able to get tickets to join possibly! Tickets aren't refundable so that's why I'm making this post!!

Bought jeans in Mexico… turned out to be women’s jeans 😭🤣

So today in CDMX I bought jeans from a local store. Before paying, I asked the staff MULTIPLE TIMES if they were men’s jeans and they kept saying yes 😭

I paid around 619 MXN for them… went home… tried them on… and later realized they’re actually women’s jeans 💀😂

The funny part is: I genuinely liked them 😭🤣
But after realizing it, I went back to return them and the lady refused completely.

Now I don’t know if I should laugh, cry, or just wear them proudly 😂😭

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

What’s a “small detail” about living in Mexico City that outsiders would never notice?

Hi! I’ve been reading a lot about CDMX lately and it seems like such a vibrant and complex city 🇲🇽

But I feel like most content online focuses on big things — food, neighborhoods, tourist spots…

I’m more curious about the little everyday details that only locals really notice.

Like small habits, unspoken rules, things that feel completely normal to you but might surprise someone visiting for the first time.

What’s something subtle about daily life in Mexico City that outsiders usually miss?

I bought jeans in Mexico… are these actually women’s jeans? 😭😂

Today I bought these jeans and asked the employees multiple times if they were men’s jeans. They all said yes 😭
Later I noticed the sizing/style might actually be for women 💀😂
I even went back to ask and now I’m confused.
Reddit… help me settle this:
Are these men’s jeans or women’s jeans? 😭🤣
Honestly the worst part is… I actually like them 😂

Activities/What to do

I’m doing a North American tour and stop 1 is in Mexico City, and I’d like some ideas on what to do from June 10th- June 14th I leave June 15th

Day 1- June 10th- Don’t know what to do, I arrive at 1pm, let’s assume getting to the hotel and checking in I will be free around 4pm, what can I do to not waste this day

Day 2- June 11th I have tickets to the World Cup so I know what I’ll be doing, and later in the day WHEN Mexico wins I’ll be there to celebrate on the town.

Day 3- June 12th- already have plans to do a bus tour of Mexico City. I did this bus tour as a kid.

Day 4- June 13th- Going to see the infamous Mexican panda with my family, and then we will see a movie (distant family lives in Mexico City) I am from the US. I will be free around 6pm onwards

Day 5- June 14th- have absolutely no idea what to do, I was considering Six flags, but should i merge that with day 3, because I’ve done this tour bus before and it does pass it. Also as for six flags I am on the heavier side like 275 pounds, will I fit on any of the rides?

I don’t really have any plans for the night, so any ideas how to maximize my trip, what type of food vendors you recommend or clubs? I’ve only visited Mexico City as kid, this will be my first time as an adult, I’m also a huge boxing fan, so any boxing activities?

Tourists alert, don’t rent a car unless you want to be threatened and robbed

We rented a car to go to the pyramids from CDMX airport. We got stopped immediately by what we now know was a fake police officer. He threatened us and demanded we pay, took all our money which was $500 usd. It was horrible and we just returned the car and gave up on the trip so we’re out about $6590 with nothing to show for it. Never had a worse experience travelling across the world for ten years. EDIT: I know now I’m an idiot and everyone thinks I deserved this for renting a car and agreeing to pay the guy. I’m an American, I’m sure that will make you guys hate me more but I thought maybe the corruption was a trope and didn’t want to buy into the negative narrative about Mexico. Won’t do it again and just made the post to prevent others from making the same mistake.

Roma or Condesa for a chill afternoon… which one do you actually prefer?

I’ve been living here for a while (I’m from Brazil originally) and this is something I still can’t fully decide 😭

I like both, but they feel slightly different depending on the day

Sometimes I feel like Roma is more “casual” and Condesa a bit more aesthetic… but I might be wrong

If you just want to walk around, grab coffee and relax a bit — where do you usually go?

Best nightlife spots in/around Roma for a mid 20’s married couple

Do any of the lounges at MEX allow entry upon arrival?

I have a few hours before our check-in at the hotel. Can I stay in the airport at a lounge? If not, where do you recommend I spend that short time?

Also, are uber and Lyft reliable methods of transport to my destination in polanco?

Has anyone received their double citizenship in México city?

Hello, could someone please tell me about their experience getting Mexican citizenship in CDMX ? Did you need to provide an apostilled birth certificate? I'm an American citizen born to Mexican parents and I'm trying to get my dual citizenship. Im in Mexico at the moment and the town I'm currently in is making the process more difficult by asking for documents I don't have, like my parents' death certificates. I'm trying to avoid those extra steps. How much did the process cost? Did you have to call to make an appointment? Thanks for your time!

Medical Tourism

Hello! Can anyone recommend a place to get my wisdom tooth removed and teeth cleaned? I’m coming from the Miami area and want to visit Mexico City for vacation but figured I might as well see what my options are for dental work while I’m there. (Yes I will take precaution and get travelers insurance)

Anyone have a positive experience with dental work in Mexico City? Where do you recommend?

Thanks!

Affordable places to visit in CDMX

I'm Brazilian (23M) and i'm going to stay in CDMX for 2 weeks. I see many posts here about what places to go in the city, but much of them are from americans or europeans, who can afford a luxurious experience. Since the Brazilian currency is not much stronger than the Mexican one, it would be great to have recommendations for things to do that aren't super expensive or overly touristy.

I really like historical and cultural places and also would like to know the nightlife 🙂
