[Windows] [DockBar] [$4.99 → $2.49] [Dynamic Island-style control bar — music, system monitor, timers & notes at the top of your screen]

DockBar is a lightweight control bar that sits at the top of your Windows screen — think "Dynamic Island" for Windows. Music controls, live system monitor (CPU/RAM/net), timers, quick notes, a quick app launcher, and an optional Liquid Glass theme. Windows 10/11.

50% off on Steam until July 9 (regional pricing applies).

Disclosure: I'm the developer.

First real sale on DockBar 30% off this week, plus some honest numbers from 2 months on Steam

Hey r/desktops,

Some of you have been following DockBar (the Dynamic Island-style bar for Windows) since the early builds. Wanted to share two things: running my first proper discount this week, and some honest numbers from the first 2 months on Steam.

The discount: -30%, $2.09 USD, ends May 22. First time it's been on sale.

The honest numbers from 2 months:

  • 286 sales
  • ~$800 net after Steam's cut
  • 560 wishlists
  • 20% refund rate (the one I'm actively working on — diagnosing if it's price, expectations, or bugs)
  • 13 reviews, all positive so far
  • 95 hours played by my most engaged user (which is wild for a utility)

Real talk: 20% refund is high. I've read this sub long enough to know you'd rather hear that than a "everything's amazing" post. Working on it.

Big thanks to this sub multi-monitor handling, the texture theme idea, the way Pomodoro toggles, all came from comments here over the months. Half the roadmap was built by you.

What it does (for new folks):

  • Music controls, system monitor, timers, notes, app launcher
  • Lives at the top of your screen, gets out of the way
  • Multiple themes (Liquid Glass, minimal, etc.)
  • ~40MB RAM, no telemetry, no account

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4431900/DockBar/

Two questions I'd actually love answers to:

  1. If you bought it and refunded — what was the deal breaker? (DM is fine)
  2. What would make you finally pull the trigger if you're still on the fence?

Thanks again version 2.0 will basically be what this community asks for.

This community helped shape DockBar now it got featured on Pocket-lint ❤️

A few months ago, DockBar was just a tiny side project we worked on after long shifts and late nights.

We shared early builds here and got tons of feedback, bug reports, UI suggestions, feature ideas, and honestly… a lot of motivation to keep going.

Today, someone wrote a full Pocket-lint article about DockBar and called it a “Dynamic Island for Windows 11.”

That genuinely feels surreal to read.

A huge part of this project exists because of this community, so thank you to everyone who tested builds, shared feedback, pointed out flaws, and helped shape DockBar into what it is today ❤️
