[The Invincible] #72 - Walking sim done right

[The Invincible] #72 - Walking sim done right

So rarely that these kind games captivate me. Initially the artwork picked my interest with a full red background and a retro font. Its a story driven sci fi indie game based on a novel. The game manages to pull you in further you go, leaving you breadcrumbs until the very end with carefully planned explorations, dialogues, vibrant colors and beautifully crafted environments. Normally a game like this, where you just walk and interact with stuff, no combat, no ways to die, on a wasteland of a desert planet would probably bore you to death but this game pulled it off masterfully. Pacing is done in a way that you are always giving your full attention to figure out whats happening in meaningful way. Platinum journey is smooth with a full playthrough + a half one for remaining endings. Highly recommend it. You will feel like watching a Black Mirror-esque Netflix mini series :)

[Crisol: Theater of Idols] #68 - Hidden gem

I had this on my wishlist ever since its trailer was released in one of the game shows. Its your linear horror fps where map is divided into three regions from central hub area and you shoot puppets coming at you slowly with knives, pitchforks and bows. Gameplay loop is heavily inspired from Resident Evil and with some Bioshock vibes thrown into the mix. The main interesting part is you use your blood as ammo so you have to constantly balance when to engage enemies, when to run, when to reload and use which weapon. Movement is heavy. You have your coins and skill points for perks and weapon upgrades. Looks and plays great on PS5 Pro. It was an interesting game overall. Trophy triggers were extremely buggy on release where collectibles arent tracked properly or difficulty trophies not popping. All are fixed now, so you have to make a legit Martyr run + collect 227 collectibles (some collectibles unlock profile-wide). The only cheese you can do is the speed run but for this to work you need to have an autosave from your previous playthrough at the final boss. So you start a new game on Martyr and die to the first enemy than click resume without backing out to the main menu which loads you back to the final boss fight (because Martyr difficulty doesnt have autosaves it loads you back to the first available one). You kill the boss and boom trophy done. Recommend this if you want a shooter with horror elements and a 25-30 hour plat.

[Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater] #67 - My first MGS plat

This and Peace Walker were the only games in the series i didnt play. Others i had played on PC and MGS 4 on PS3 back when there were no trophy support. I just found out what i missed out on for 22 years :D Best in the franchise, MGS 4 comes right after. If i had played this on PS2 i would be go nuts haha but sadly i didnt have the console. Ill wait for August when they release Master Collection Vol 2 and buy it along with Vol 1 and maybe do a whole MGS marathon on July :D probably going to be extremely hard but i hope that on Vol 2 they will ease the trophy list a bit compared to PS3 version.

[Directive 8020] #63 - Twists and turns

I didnt know this game was a part of Dark Pictures series until last minute so it added up the enjoyment i got out of the game. Cant say much about all the bits as they would be spoilers but all i can say is that its another awesome title from Supermassive Games, the entire series remindes of Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix. Platinum journey is smooth unlike other choice based games out there. Totally recommended for series fans, especially if you like sci-fi horror.

[007 First Light] #62 - One of the best this year

Beautiful game overall, i really missed playing these type of cinematic games since Uncharted days. To me this game is one of the trophy hunter’s wet dreams: major title, mostly story progression trophies, high quality cinematics with a blend of stealth / action. I wish more games copy this route to platinum, no grind no hassle. Im excited for the future of 007 :) Ran and looks extremely well on Pro but i got disconnected from online which interrupted gameplay sometimes.

[Death Stranding: Director’s Cut] #61 - We deliver!

When i played this on PC for the first time years ago, i couldnt quite grasp what this game was going for and kinda agreed on the walking sim idea but now playing it again with Directors Cut edition and platting it for the first time i know see what a true gem this is. I guess some things click better with age. I also bought On the Beach and very excited to have more of Kojima’s universe but im too drained to go for it now haha the last grind was just too much so ill just jump to 007 :)

Do you guys have any tips or what should i be expecting for the sequal? Is it also this grindy?

[Shadow of the Colossus] #60 - Almost a decade old late victory

I had this game sitting in my shelf for so long for PS3, but i never had the mental courage to make a platinum run as i heard it was mechanically very demanding to pull off the time attacks, collecting all lizards and fruits and many playthroughs required for max hp / stamina, let alone the stutters and fps drops. Than came the PS4 version which easied things a little thanks to polished controls and graphics but still i was hesitant. I already had ICO and Last Guardian done so i thought it was finally time to brace the final title in the unholy trio. And here we have it.. i can easily say this will be an unforgettable milestone in my trophy list :) as i was running to the gate on the long bridge for my last trophy before platinum, i thought.. hell i shouldnt have waited a decade for this!

[Beyond: Two Souls] #59 - Final title of the trio

Wanted to plat the final game on my list by Quantic Dream, Beyond felt somewhere in between Heavy Rain and Detroit. Experiencing a character’s arc from birth to the bitter end with all the different journeys they go through is always a delight. Feels like you are going through many lives in one. Only the CIA bits felt like a bit out of place within the whole. Endings grind drags badly towards the end as you play Black Sun episode for like how many times i lost count and having to wait for credits as a bonus agony for each ending :) in the end i love all three titles in their own way. Glad these games made their way into Playstation library.

[Terminator 2D: No Fate] #58 - A lovely fan service

I completely forgot this game existed and saw its Day One box edition in my local store, grabbed it asap. At the start a very explosive title screen welcomes you just as expected and than its basically an old school side-scroller with Contra style shooting. There are various difficulties, game modes and 3 different endings. Platinum is relatively easy except a few trophies. Loved the game in general. Any Terminator fan should give this a go :)

[Saros] #56 - The Sun is Forever

Another masterpiece from Housemarque. I had a chance to play Returnal on pc and it was phenomenal. Its also much more forgiving in terms of what you lose and what you keep. Thanks to modifiers everyone can tweak the game as hard or easy as they want. Gameplay is buttery smooth and precise. Had no issues on PS5 Pro. Despite the mixed reviews i also found the story interesting but probably it is because im a sucker for sci-fi / time loop / eldritch horror stuff. Now ill play Returnal on my console this time to have the platinum, god help me.. it will surely feel like torture after what Saros had to offer :)

[Sackboy: A Big Adventure] #54 - One insanity off the checklist

Ive always adored LBP on PS3 and Sackboy is sadly on its last adventure before Astrobot stole the scene. Besides the infamous String it Together trophy its a much smoother platinum experience compared to previous games. I have received help for Ripsnorter and im not ashamed to say it out loud :p im not very good at platform games and that last trophy was just too much.. many thanks to community for the support! I can finally focus on Saros and Returnal after that so even more rage moments awaits me :) at least ill have a better luck there in terms of gameplay skill..

Edit: Sorry for the repost, i made a mistake on platinum number on post title.

[God of War Sons of Sparta] #54 - Stand united or fall as one

Although in metroidvania form it was great to be back in Greece setting and seeing an early glimpse of Kratos’ life :) Loved the music as well (my favourite is Vineyards). I was kinda surprised by how much there is to do as ive seen it as a simple plat. Maybe its the side stuff and backtracking, not sure. Nothing major as you %100 the game you get the plat much like newer GoW titles. What kinda killed it for me are the technical bugs. Playing on PS5 Pro and game stuck on black screen or crashed out during screen transitions maybe 5 times which caused progress loss as there is no auto save (just, why?) feature so it kicks you back to your latest manuel save. Imagine you farm 50k orbs for the last ability which will pop the plat, you spammed square for 1 hour in sparring, only to get booted out during a loading screen to campsite. All in all if you enjoy games like Prince of Persia Lost Crown youll enjoy this.

This game was my motivation to buy a PS5 back in the day when it was first announced, just for the nostalgia and my love towards souls games as i had already platinumed the PS3 version to prepare myself beforehand but i couldnt get to fulfill this dream due to financial reasons. 6 years have passed and finally managed to get this one. What a great remake, respectful to the original but polished on every aspect. Shame that the studio behind this is now closed. Happy that they also revised the trophy list so that you dont have to go through the hassles of upgrading each weapon type or finding all weapons. Fractured worlds mode is a clever addition for the veterans. Overall great title for those who wants to experience where it all started :) also huge thanks to Demon Souls community for helping with coop and invasion trophies, still active after all these years!
