Checking out a 19 and 21 insight tomorrow - advice on which to choose
I’m in the market for a new car, my current one is reaching the end of its life lol. I’ve had a Hyundai and a Subaru but have been really leaning towards the Honda sedan models. I’d love something hybrid and stumbled across a dealership near me with two insights on the lot right now.
- 2019 with 124k miles for $15k
- 2021 with 72k miles for $20.5k
Here’s what I’ve picked out from the carfax reports:
- both look like they were serviced regularly (oil changes)
- I don’t see any transmission servicing on the 2019. 2021 has had one transmission service at 54k miles.
- Neither seems to have had the 12v battery replaced
- 19 had tires replaced in 2022, 21 hasn’t
- 21 had an accident reported 7/2025 that carfax says is minor but has no details
My budget isn’t great right now, I can’t really put much down as a deposit so I’d really prefer the 19’s price. Both are HondaTrue Used, but I’d probably need an extended warranty so the price will go up even more.
Any and all advice welcome
TLDR: not sure which insight to choose, both have their pros and cons with maintenance/mileage. want to hear opinions on price and any concerns
